  11. I am the moderator on an online sim horse game called Horse Eden Eventing. Been there for a couple of years. The owner and I were friends before this game and I was lucky enough to be in Beta testing. This game has shot up in the ratings and is insanely cool. You basically can capture wild horses of certain eventing breeds and then you can breed them, train, show, horse racing, have riders, tack, trail rides, clinics, etc. And the breeding is based on real life genetics and I have actually learned all about genetics from this game! haha Here is the game if you want to try it out. http://www.horseeden.com/index.php?referral=6 For every person that joins using the above link, I will send you a free horse too! Come join us, it's awesome!
  12. Just thought I'd check in. I used to be on here ALL the time. LOL Now it's sporadic. For those that do remember me, here's a little update. My son is 7 years old and in 2nd grade now. I ride and show paso fino horses for a huge farm here in Virginia, where I now live. Sadly, I'm only able to ride at the shows because her barn is 3 hours away. But when I can, I go to her farm in between shows. I am the trail boss, eNews editor and press secretary for the Virginia region of the Paso Fino Horse Association. I have started a group on Facebook called Paso Fino Urgent Rescue. We rescue paso fino horses (reg. or proven) that are either in auction houses on their way to slaughter or being given away or sold insanely cheap in order to stop them from going to an auction. Started this in May 2011 and as of today we have rescued 10 horses. I am the moderator on an online sim horse game called Horse Eden Eventing. Been there for a couple of years. 13. I don't think Pasogirlz could take a bad picture ever! LOL
  14. So did anybody ever end up getting a test ride?
  15. If anyone can find you a test ride, it's Lori! She got me my first test ride, what, 5 years ago Lori? I've been hooked and active in paso finos ever since, been a PFHA member for 4 years, and have yet to own one. Paso Fino owners are a breed of their own, very willing to share their horses and let anybody ride. I'm lucky enough to have known and worked with two very influential people, one was Stella Manberg-Wise of Great Blazes Farm in SC when I lived there (she gives test rides!) and then I moved here to VA and have had the luck of working with Anni Howell of Riverview Farms. You get a good test ride and you WILL be hooked, no doubt about it. Everyone always sees the finos (like the video on the first post here) and wonders if that's all they can do. Fino is actually something that not a lot of pasos can do, most corto and largo, and that is a great trail riding pace. Corto is equivalent to the speed of the trot while largo can be canter or even gallop. Plus they also canter and gallop. They are very versatile, you name it, they can do it. There are even pasos that show in hunter jumper shows!
