  1. I didn't think it was that bad either. If anything, the mom overreacting about it frightened the child worse than if she would have acted like everything was fine, and the girl would have seen that. Although I don't think the little girl looked frightened at all, but in the article it said she was crying after the fact, I believe..
  2. haha! That is tooo cute! I love your stories about him (:
  3. 18. When you go out to catch them, and they run all over the coral to get away, but as soon as you turn your back and start to head towards the gate, they come running over and put their head right on your arm as if saying, "Wait! Don't go, I was only playing!"
  4. When I get outside to walk to class this morning, and the little digital thermometer says it is -10* and I think to myself: Wow! Only -10 and NO wind?! This is gonna be a WARM walk to class this morning! I love how when it reaches mid 20's people are out and about with shorts on on campus.
  5. I've heard A LOT about them over on Barrel Horse World. But I haven't really figured out which one is better, so I thought I'd come over here and hear some more opinions :)
  6. Also in General Horse talk.. c I really want to get my mare on a good supplement, and have heard soo many good things about both T.H.E and Animal Element. T.H.E is cheaper, but for some reason I have a feeling Animal Element will get me better results. Of course, I really have no idea, I don't know anyone personally who has used either. I would like these supplements for my barrel horse, who gets hauled all summer and usually ran 1-2 times a weekend, sometimes 3 times, depending on the schedule, with an occassional weekend off. She does get about 4 months off during the winter to recover and because she deserves a break. I'm really stumped on which supplement to go with, but I know I want to try one of these two. Just some more info on her.. She is turned out 24/7 during the summer, usually, so she has free choice grass, and gets a few flakes of good quality hay that we make here on the farm. She is also fed Summer Heat, from Woody's Performance Feeds. She is susceptible to getting colds when being hauled, so I thought the Animal Element Detox would really help with that also. Anything the vets have given us has definately helped with her runny noses, but has never gotten completely rid of it. Any advice or personal experiences on either of these two supplements? Thanks soo much for any input, I appreciate it!

My little sister running her past the timer. I loved how my older sister's camera captured it and is very defined! Thanks!
  8. It annoys me soooo much when people are 100% anti slaughter. I can see when it isn't done humanley, but when it is, it is a very much needed thing. Do you not realize how many emmaciated, abandoned horses there are? If there aren't any slaughter houses, there is an overpopulation of horses= no market at all. You can not save every single horse there is. I don't know. I'm terrible at putting thoughts into words, so I'll just step off my soap box now (: But to answer the questions.. No I'm not against slaughter, if it is done humanely. Yes, there is definately an "unwanted" horse problem. Finally, I'm not sure if I would eat horse meat. I don't think it's something I would order off the menu, but if someone offered for me to taste it, I might.
  9. Wow! Very nice. They are all gorgoeus!
  10. I've heard LOTS of good things about it over on BHW. I really want to try some too!
  11. I had to add 2 more recent pictures. Just cause I think he is soo handsome :) He has the best personality ever! He's so goofy.
  12. Ohhh ok. It's on ESPN 2 here and it airs at 9:00 p.m. Unless they changed something. I'm in ND. And wow, I just reread your post. I don't know how I missed you saying your internet was slow. LOL. sorry!
  13. You can watch it online, a live feed, at www.espn.go.com/espn3/
  14. Here's Cody. He was a year old in April. He always sleeps with his legs up against the fridge, couch, etc. Sharing his food with Bubba, the kitty.
  15. 1. Do you own your own horse? Tell us about them (general stats.) Yes. My family has a total of 9 horses, but 2 of them are mine. Snap- 10 yr old APHA black and white mare Sooner- 3 yr old AQHA chestnut gelding 2. Do you have your horses at home, or boarded? At home, with my parents. I'm currently in college, about 3 hours away. 3. Are your horses stalled or pastured? Pastured 24/7 during the summer. In winter, they have dirt corrals with access to a barn. 4. What do you feed your horses? Grass, hay. Snap gets a mix of oats and Summer Heat. 5. If you horse is stalled, how often do you clean stalls? Not stalled. 6. How often do you ride? During the summer, nearly everyday, unless something comes up. Now that I'm in school, I try to ride whenever I'm home on the weekends. 7. Where do you ride? Our property, and along the gravel road. 8. If you own more than one, do you have a favorite? Snap has taught me everything I know about barrel racing and has made many of my dreams become reality. 9. What do you do with your horse? (pleasure, trail, showing, etc..) Snap is a finished barrel horse, so she is mainly used for that, but we trail ride also, to keep her mind good. Sooner is currently being trained for barrels, but is doing a lot of trail riding as of now. The rest of the family's horses are all trail horses and used on the farm to gather cows.
