  1. Thanks everyone for your replies... Yes drilling is getting very disheartening! I did talk to my instructor and went over what is going on in my head. She went over a few things that I am having trouble with. Timing of adding my leg, etc. I ended up having not a bad lesson! Not the best, but much better than it has been! Anyways, I do not have trail access, so I think I will look into a dressage lesson or 2. I just have to find someone in the area that I trust. I have been screewed over too many times! Thanks again! Keep the advice comming!
  2. Thank you Nikki! I will look for the book. I do get "homework" which is typically no stirrups! Which is getting really easy now. My instrutor keeps saying that I ride better without my stirrups than with. The problem I am having is getting my leg postition to be like the position I have w/o stirrups! Thanks again!
  3. Thanks for all your kind words and ideas! I will take them all into consideration when I work out what I want to do...Little Wing, I will send you a p.m. shortly!
  4. What do you do to get yourself out of a rut! I feel like I am always one step forward 100 steps back. I have a wonderful trainer who is making me get a better leg position. But, it is just not obsorbing! I have some sort of block. Lesson always go, great on flat, and then we get to the fences and I fall apart. My trainer is basicly restarting me from scratch from some alwful training for many years. My horse is wonderful! Very honest and safe. But, what we are trying to do is just not clicking with me! Anyways, when you feel like all is lost in your riding, what do you do to get out of it? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for reading
  5. Thank you for all your responses. I will talk to my vet about previcox when he is out next. I just want to make sure that I am doing the best I can for him. I want to give him any maintenance that he needs. Are there any side effects to Previcox? What is the dosage? I only saw the canine version... Thanks
  6. Thank you for the reply. I do walk him for a half hour before we do anything. I just want to make him as comfortable as I can.
  7. Thanks for all your info. I think I am going to ask the vet next time he is out what he thinks of this horse, and how he is going.
  8. Hi Everyone! I have a 24 year old gelding. He is still jumping!!! Doing great! He just comes out stiff. After a long walk, he is much better. His turnout situation has not been great this winter. I have him on Equine Senior and Durlactin Equine Joint Plus. He is doing good on this. I was wondering if adding more glucosamine would help. I only have this horse. I need to keep him as healthy as I can for as long as I can!!! Like I said, He is sound, but starts out pretty stiff until we warm up properly. I just need for him to be comfortable. He still has tons of energy. Can you please recommend some joint supplements that work really well, that will not break the bank. He is also on adequan once a month. Thanks for reading/

  10. Thank you for all your suggestions. Are these non-necrotyzing?
  11. Hi everyone. My horse has never had thrush before. I just found it yesterday. Can you please give me the best over the counter remidies for this. Also, if there are any good home remidies that work. Thanks in advance for your help.
  12. Well.... We have progress. I was talking to my trainer before my lesson on Saturday regarding this situation. She stated that what I am doing is breaking at the ankle. We worked on this and my ankle did not hurt during that lesson! Thanks for all your help. I am still trying to get the video downloaded off of the cd. I am not very computer savy!I am still going to check out the books and hitting the gym! Thanks again!
  13. Nick, I rode in a clinic last weekend. I will get the video to you if I can download it. Thanks!!!
  14. Thank you everyone for your great replies. I think yes, I do need to work on my core. I also do think that my ankles are generally weak from previous injuries. I am taking this all in and appreciate your advise. The toe in, heal out comment really helped! I will try thinking of this tonight when I lesson. Little Wing- I will send pics, but only by P.M. If you, or anyone else will critique, I would be happy to send pics! Thanks again!
  15. Thanks again Nick! I was also wondering if you find this benificial for hunters, or any type of riding? Thanks for all your input!
