Does anyone feed their horses cantaloupe?

7 posts in this topic

I've just always wondered because we will feed the cantaloupe rinds to our horses right after we cut one up (it's fresh). It's more like a treat for them because they just LOVE them!!

My mom and I have always wondered if cantaloupe is bad for them .... We've never noticed any negative side effects so I'm assuming not.

Anyone one else let your horses eat it?

Bucky & Rooster LOVE watermelon, especially Rooster. I think they've eaten cantaloupe before, in fact they've probably eaten just about every fruit.

Last summer I would make them a "salad" every evening, it would be carrots, apples, watermelon, grapes......you name it, if it was fresh and cold from the market, they got it.
