Looking Around For Wildflowers

7 posts in this topic

Today we went on a ride near Gorman California. Perfect weather, but not very many wildflowers out.

Here's a slideshow compilation of several rides in the same area

Much the same kinds of stuff over on the east side of Antelope Valley. The only ones that seem to be up are the drated Fiddleneck, and some Phasalia. The poppies in my yard are up and doing fine, but we have not had enough consistent rain to have a good crop of flowers.

Two years ago this was a great area to ride and see the blooms;....

OH YEAH,

our ETI ride is on the 14th at east Antelope Acres. This is just outside the Poppy Reserve, so perhaps some blooms will be there. "Horsinround", a BB from here, is leading a ride in Leona Valley that day also, so if you want to connect with her, just PM her.

It's been a late spring and I'm not sure the wildflowers will ever bloom this year.

The Liebre Mtn. area is usually loaded with all kinds of flowers in the spring.

My "poppy" ride is 4/22, but I'm going to have to rename it the "no poppy" ride. The long range forecast calls for temperatures in the 70s that weekend, which will be a welcome respite from the chilly, windy weather we've been having.
