Lots of John pictures! First some info and cruising pictures, then the funny ones. He cruises now holding onto furniture! He says "mama", "dada", and "bana" for banana, "ba" for food, and squeals at the animals. He is into EVERYTHING with reckless abandon and the kind of absolute joy that only a baby can have. His first tooth is just barely visible on the lower left front. I can feel it when he chews on my fingers (very sharp!). He still loves to cuddle but sleeps well in his crib. He loves to sleep on his tummy now. He weighs 22 pounds and he is growing longer and leaner by the day. So many things make him laugh! Silly noises with gentle tickles from mommy and more wild, wrestling, tickling from daddy. His laugh is contagious. He shares loud raspberries back and forth and breathes excitedly through his drool-filled mouth when he sees something interesting. The funny slurping noises make us laugh. Cruising pictures!! He pulls himself up on the coffee table and loves to ham it up for the camera: Hi mom and dad! These pictures show how he moves himself around between the coffee table and the couch hunting for remotes, new objects, or just a cuddle.

The baby chicks fascinate him and he talks to the horses and donkey. However, it is the animals that share our house that he is most attached to. First, as a five day old baby, he noticed our black cat and loved to look at her fur glistening in the sun. Then, Audrey, the orange, babysitter kitty, began to keep a watchful eye on him. Next, he discovered Bart, the youngest of the cats, and began to enjoy watching us playing with Bart. Finally, after many, many months of closely supervised interactions, he was allowed onto the floor near the dogs. Our big dog walks away when John crawls towards him, which is fine. We always make sure he has an escape route. That same dog, however, protects John when he is in his stroller. Arrow, our little Australian Cattle Dog, is the most docile creature on the farm. She is on par with Audrey as far as our level of trust. John is, of course, always supervised but they are allowed to play gently. Arrow adores him so much that we have to stop him when he gets too excited. She can and will get up and walk away but she loves his clumsy touch, too. And this series shows Arrow and John playing. (Australian Cattle Dogs, according to my dog breeds book, were developed using Kelpies and Dingos). Disclaimer: Do not try this at home without an Arrow dog! HELP!!! A baby is eating my Dingo!!!! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

What a cutie! Great pictures. I had to laugh at your subtitle and then quickly scrolled down throught the pictures. Could only imagine. My girlfriend's nephew used to literally chew on her sister's Weimeriner's legs. Poor dog would just look up like "somebody helpppppppppp me.....".
Good dog you have there.

When Broo was about 7, we had a sweet little blue healer pup. She was about 6 months old when we got her and she was scared to death of men, so she never warmed up to men. But she loved Broo and would let her do absolutely anything. If Broo was outside that dog - Belle - was never far away. She kept a close eye on her girl. We finally had to get rid of Belle because she just wouldn't warm up to men. We were afraid she might try to bite someone. We gave her to a kid that she fell in love with. Anyway, seeing those pictures of baby John with Arrow reminded me so much of Broo and our little healer pup. They really are great dogs. Your little boy is so darn cute - all boy, too, I'll bet.

Adore your kiddo, heeler, and the fact your Shepherd is named Luther. I think after seeing so many on HC, a Heeler pup will be in my future once I'm equipped to own a dog again. After my next Aussie, though ;D
Great pictures!!!

"I climb the fence and next thing I know, I'm standing at the shoulder of this horse, this creature of my dreams. I raise a trembling hand poised to touch his neck. I'm afraid to make contact, afraid to break the spell. He swings his neck around and presses his muzzle up against me, blowing against the cotton of my shirt. And then I touch him, actually feel the warmth of his flesh under my fingers. And suddenly everything, everything, everything is okay."
