I have a friend that raises a particular breed of cattle. She's very very good at what she does. My daughter wants to have a breeding project heifer for 4-H this year. She does not want one of the breed my friend raises. Nothing against it she just doesn't want one. I am looking at hereford heifers and I would like my friend to go with me to help my daughter pick a good one. How do I ask her without hurting her feelings about not wanting one of hers? confused0024.gif

maybe your jumping the gun thinking she'll be offended. I bet she wouldn't be. May even be flattered that you value her opinion.

I would think, "daughter is really interested in getting a hereford for her breeding project this year. I really value your opinion and would love it if you would go with me to tell me what you think." would suffice.

As every year passes
They mean more than gold
May you win and stay humble

That may be myoldhorse. I never thought of it like that. I just want to make sure I don't do it inadvertantly. I'm terrible with words.
lash, we must have been typing at the same time. That sounds just like what I need smileywavey.gif

I would just say...

"Friend, dear daughter wants to do 4-H and she wants X type of cow. I was hoping you could help us pick one."
