So today was my birthday. I don't normally let everyone know because I have always been depressed on my birthday, which makes me not want to be recognized for my birthday. I don't know why for sure.

Hubby and I were talking about that this morning when he called and he asked me why. So, I thought about it.

I get very introspective around anniversaries and reflect on things related to them.

As a result, I decided that it could be because I am very goal oriented, but have difficulty developing a plan. I get to the end of another year and realize that I've wasted most of it...again.

I went off to work as usual and then, this evening my ponderings went off on another tangent.

I was driving down one of our backroads on the way to get our pick up from hubby's work so that I could go get hay early tomorrow morning. Now, remember, I'm a recent transplant to the area, but grew up in a rural part of the country.

As I'm cruising up this backroad, I see headlights coming toward me in the opposite lane. At first I thought it was just the pick up headlight height versus car closer to the ground factor that was blinding me. Then I realized that the pick up had its high beams on.

So, like anyone else in the country, I did a quick flick with my high beams. The pick up driver caught on and turned off her brights. That's when I realized that I knew whose pick up it was. So, I called her on her cell phone and gave her crap, just 'cause!

After I got off the phone, I realized that was one of the things I'd missed when living in the city. There are so many people in the city that it was rare to meet one of your friends randomly on the road. In rural areas, you not only meet up with a friend on a backroad, you can give them crap about it and they think it's funny.

So, hopefully supper's finished now and I've probably bored you all... y que!

Happy Birthday. I know the oddness about Birthdays. I think personally I'm uncomfortable with that sort of attn :)

As to the country thing. I have to say living in the city is odd but interesting. Even though I don't 'know' many of the people since I just got here and don't speak the language, all sorts of people that I 'know' from this neighborhood all greet me and ask how I am. Its really nice.
