Name: Tyler Jones
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance: 6'2 165 lbs, black hair with his ears pierced and slightly gauged. Never seen without his jeans and band shirts, he's got medium length hair.
Personality: Tyler is on the quiet side, a real sweet-heart but is known for having a bit of a temper if you mess with him. He's very loyal, but will speak his mind and has no problem telling you to cut the carp if your being ridiculous. He's a bit of a dare-devil, and is really out there to prove everyone wrong about "stereotypes'. Most picture him as the clean cut, good guy sort of thing, most people think that he's quiet so they can walk all over him.
Background: Tyler has lived here his whole life except for a brief 6 month stint he traveled the U.S for fun. He works as a tattoo artist, and is pretty active around the music scene.

Age: 19
Gender: Female
Appearance: Adriana is average at 5'5 with a curvy, yet slender, frame. She has a pretty, angled face and smooth, sun-kissed skin. Long, chocolate waves cascade just to her chest, making her bright blue eyes stand out. She has a dragon tattooed on the nape of her neck.
Personality: Light and bubbly, she is rarely seen without a smile or a laugh. She is highly intelligent but doesn't apply herself in the least and instead uses her smarts to outmaneuver her overprotective, conservative parents. Adriana has a wicked sense of humor and enjoys being the center of attention in almost every situation. She has a fairly even temperament but tends to be impatient and get bored easily.
Background: Her family has money and she was always given whatever she wanted. She spent her freshman year of college at Duke and is more than happy to be back home. Adriana has lived in Camden her entire life along with her older brother and younger sister.

Adriana parked her black Lexus in front of The Drip, the local coffee shop, ecstatic to be back home. Everything was so familiar here. She slipped out of the car, immediately adjusting the low-cut, short black Keemia dress so that it completely covered her teal, strapless, tiny bathing suit. The beach had been calling her name since she'd entered her parent's house the previous night.

She was greeted with well-known faces and she quickly said hello to everyone, answering questions that were asked of her politely. Adriana hid her boredom and annoyance well, but she wished that everyone would leave her alone, she just wanted a cup of coffee, or three.

Tugging her dark waves over one shoulder, she revealed her tattoo, a present to herself earlier that year while she had been at school. Finally, they appeared to be done and returned to their breakfasts, allowing her to make her way to the bar-styled seating. She sat down on one of the stools, and, instead of just coffee like she'd intended, she ordered a stack of chocolate chip pancakes and a bowl of fruit.

Question: Are you sure Camden is a Beach Community, because i Googled it and the map says it's actually two hours from the nearest beach? Just letting you know.

Name: Helen First
Age: 20
Gender: female
Appearance: Helen has a very average physique, standing about five foot five and weighing in at about a hundred and twenty pounds. She's not really someone to worry about her figure but it stays pretty fit throughout her life. Even though Helen's body is quiet average her facial features have a special beauty about them with high cheek bones, heart shaped lips, and big round eyes. Her face is surrounded by a sea of shoulder length auburn colored curly hair that matches her eyes. She spends much time outside at the beach by Charleston where she goes to school, but her skin is still fair and soft.
Personality: Helen posses a gentle and patient attitude, as in she is friendly, kind and compassionate. With that kind of nature her weakness is growing utterly sympathetic for others and any suffering they may encounter. Helen is a free spirit like a young child trapped inside an adult's body. With a big smile she is accepting of everyone. Another weakness of Helen's is the fact she isn't emotionally strong, if she is faced with a problem she waits around until is fixes itself out. She dislikes discipline and confinement, along with being criticized especially on her art. For the last two years, Helen has been attending The Art Institute in Charleston for Visual Art which is her passion and love. The biggest part of her personality is her tendency to withdraw from the world in many ways, like daydreaming to the point she confuses her made up dream world with reality.
Background: Growing up in Camden Helen lived in a uptown large estate with her wealthy family. Helen could have anything she wanted but really never asked for much. Her mother was an alcoholic while her father grew negligent of the family. The only reason her parents are still together because they are worried about their social status going down due to the divorce. She always thought it was superficial and pathetic but what was only because she was basically raised by her loving brother.

Gender:Male
Appearance: Kyler looks much like his sister. Body strong and build standing about six foot tall. Deep brown colored eyes with full pink tinted lips that hold a big warm smile. Great bone structure with high cheek bones and strong jawline. Unlike his sister he's a rich golden tan color that matched his dark brown hair. Often Kyler's bangs are jelled back, and sometimes he'll run some though the rest of his hair. Not to be to frank, he'd quiet the lady's man. :]
Personality: Very outgoing and lively. Kyler's always having to do something, or be a part of something. He's friendly, honest, and loyal. Much like his sister, he can become detached or unemotional from the world, or relationships. Very smart and clear of thinking when it comes to problems. If he becomes interested in something or sets a goal he'll strive for it forever even if it means risking everything. Kyler as two sides: Father and Child. He's grown very fatherly like from raising his little sister, but there are those times where he'll crack open a budlight and hang out at the beach with his buddies.
Background: Basically Same as Helen's background.
Other: He's currently working in Camden as a mechanic at one of the local car places.

Age:21
Gender: female
Appearance: Dacey towers over most of her friends, standing at 5'8". She has to work hard to maintain an 'acceptable' weight of 135, as her mother reminded her daily to watch what she ate. Her long wavy strawberry blonde hair is parted to one side, with flippy bangs that cover half of her right eye. She has freckles and bright green eyes that stand out againts her tanned skin. She has two tattoos, a sun on her left hip and a running horse on her lower back.
Personality: A first impression of Dacey is a rough and intimidating girl that can hold her own. She doesn't open up to strangers easily, but she remains close to the ones that matter. She knows how to have a good time, and can occaisonally be a little too daring. Her passionate emotions do not waver, she either loves you or she hates you. Many people do not know the real Dacey underneath her tough girl exterior.
Background:Dacey grew up at the beach, as an escape from her hectic life at home. Her father left when she was 4, and never tried to contact her again. Her mother lost control of the family, focusing more on a way to avoid the pain of being dumped. Dacey watched as her mother indulged in drugs, alcohol, and many one night stands. Dacey's mother couldnt give her alot in their single wide home, but she made sure she had clothes, food, and a way out. Dacey was never great at school - she never tried hard enough to break the c average, and her hatred for authority and rules alomost got her kicked out. As soon as she graduated, Dacey and her mother put theirs savings into her first car, allowing dacey to get a decent job and her own apartment. As soon as she left Alabama, she came to Camden on a job offer after she got her bartender's license. She now works at the popular friday night hot spot.

[[Actually I had no idea that Camden, South Carolina was a real place. Haha. I'm just a fan of the name Camden at the moment :). Anyway, I'm going to add a boy as well]]

Name: Liam Lux
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance: Light blonde, floppy hair is usually mussed no matter what he does to it. He has a long, lanky build that is toned and stands at 6'3. Liam has light blue eyes that are almost eerie in direct sunlight due to how pale they become. His skin is well-tanned and freckled across his chest and shoulders. His strong jawline and chin direct attention to his soft pink lips that only occasionally crack open into a crooked smile.
Personality: While his younger sister has been deemed as light and bubbly, Liam has always been understood to be 'troubled', though that is hardly the case. He allows people to believe what they want, because it keeps him from getting bothered the townsfolk. In reality, he is just quiet and not afraid to speak his mind when he does speak. He has a fairly wicked sense of humor and has next to no shame in what he says or does. Relationships, or anything along those lines, are the butt of most of his jokes as he thinks love and everything that comes with it is a farce. He likes to be in control of the situation, and will poke at things that he knows will make someone yield to him. Once you've earned his trust though he is fiercely loyal and will protect the friendship with all he has got.
Background: He grew up in the esteemed household that was Lux along with his sister, but he experienced a different childhood. His father put a lot of pressure on him to go into the business world, and eventually take over Lux Brakes, the second largest provider of car-related items in the nation, but that wasn't what he wanted and eventually it drove a wedge between them. Now, they can barely be in the same room without a fight taking place. In high school, he dealt weed on a regular basis, though rarely used himself, though he didn't mind tossing back a few beers every other night or so, though he maintained a 'b' average and attended college for four years, getting a degree in economics. He's long past the drug-dealer stage though and has instead turned his passion for cars into mechanics, a profession that his father frowns upon whole-heartedly.
Other: He owns a black, '67 Mustang coupe that he pretty much re-built from scratch over the past three years that he lovingly refers to as Eleanor.

The waves brushed against the rocks softly, like they are kissing the shore. Helen touch the hood of the trunk of her '67 red convertible but paused from opening it to look over her shoulder across the parking lot and past a couple roads to where she can see the waves splashing to the surface. She was very reluctant to open the trunk and put her bags in to leave back home. It's not like the beach in Camden would be any different than the beach here in Charleston. This beach held her dreams, memories of romantic nights, and hopes of many for things, though. Camden held the face of her parents, and people who she didn't want to reconnect with. Maybe her fears are a result of thinking to much when she withdraws from the world on her long walks across the beach.

After she placed what few bags she had in the back of the old SS Chevelle, Helen took a deep breath of the salty air and exhaled with a long sigh. Her blue flats tapped along the ground as she walked to the front and got in. The engine purring as it pulled out of the parking lot on it's hour long trip to Camden.

The air was thick with the sent of grease and oil the smell of a good day to Kyler. With a smile he swaggered into the shop while swinging a rag over his shoulders. After his hands were free of the rag he rubs them together like he was preparing them for the day of work a head of him. Knowing he had to get a couple things done this morning before his sister came into town to met up for lunch.

"Hey, Tony." The toner voice yelled across the shop to the owner of the place who was already crawled under a Ford working. Kyler could hear a couple metal tools hit the ground and then Tony came into view. He was a tall Italian man, who everyone humorously nicknamed 'Tony', with dark hair and a full mustache. "What's in store for me today?" Kyler said running a ran through his dark hair.

Tony scratched the top of his balding head as he looked around at the couple of cars that we held up on jacks. "Eh, why don't you start on the van." He nodded his head toward the gray mini van next to me. "The tranny needs torn out of it." Without another word Kyler nodded in response, he is always happy to work. With a wrench in his hand, he walked over to the hood and popped it open to begin his work.

Dacey rolled out of bed at 10 am, squinting as the sunlight pierced her precious sleep. Last night had been awful, covering two shifts from 6 pm to 2 am, but the tips were worth it. She shuffled to the kitchen to get her morning coffee after making a stop in the bathroom. She poured a steaming hot cup, and glanced around her 'living room' uncomfortably. Malibu - her blood hound - came racing around the corner, slipping on the hardwood floors. "This isn't much of a home, is it girl? We need to work on that, huh". Her empty house had a kitchen, 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom, and a large living room with nothing but a couch and a small tv next to a stack of movies.

Dacey let Malibu out, then headed back to her room to get dressed. She slipped on her bikini, some cut offs and a white tank top. Then she grabbed some pen and paper and started to make a list of what needed to get done around her place to make it a home. Malibu howled loudly at the door to be let in "I'm coming I'm coming, don't freak out!", but Dacey decided it was time to leave her 'cave' and ride around town. Dacey grabbed her keys and headed outside with Malibu after locking the door. She opened the door to her black 67' Impala to let Malibu jump in. Dacey turned the car on and let it roar to life after a long night last night. She closed her driver door and put on her aviators. Then she rolled down the windows after backing down the drive. Malibu hung her head excitedly out the window as they flew down the street. Dacey turned up the radio and took a left to head towards town.

Name: Alaska Anderson
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Alaska has striking eyes that are almost a turquoise blue and long, dark eyelashes. Her olive skin stays tan year round. Long, dark brown hair falls straight, until almost halfway down her back and makes her light eyes stand out even more. A few freckles dapple her nose and cheeks. She's just a few inches taller then five foot, but she has been blessed with a nearly flawless figure despite what she eats.
Personality: Although she's very fun and outgoing, Alaska is actually a relatively difficult girl to get to know. She keeps her family life and secrets her secrets and only opens up to a select few, but she is generally very friendly and social.
Background: Alaska grew up in a very wealthy area in Georgia, but her parents moved to Camden after she graduated from high school and left for college, saying the only reason they'd stayed in the other city had been for the top public schools. She attends USC, so South Carolina has quickly become home to her. Although she hasn't lived in Camden her whole life like many others there, she's quickly adjusted to the small beach town and the laid back lifestyle.

Name: Shelby Brooks
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Appearance: Standing at 5'2" with a slender build, Shelby is best described as petite. Her hair is the color of black coffee and falls in loose waves and curls just past her shoulders. She has fair skin with a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. Shelby has a round face and soft, features with grey eyes. While Shelby is certainly pretty, she's certainly not the kind of girl you'd ever describe as hot. She has a more classic beauty, the kind that you don't notice at first. It's the natural, carefree beauty of someone who could not care less about what others think.
Personality: Shelby is quiet but not shy. She is very determined and has been described as "stubborn" more than once. She is slow to trust and very independent these traits, combined with a cynical view of love have resulted in a disastrous dating history. She always seems to have one foot out the door and she tends to bail on a relationship after a week or two. She is the kind of girl that doesn't know what to do with an eyelash curler or blush. Though she sometimes holds her friends at a distance as well, she'll have their back and is always up for movie night or a night out.
Background: Shelby grew up in Annapolis, MD with her father, step-mother and step-siblings in your typical middle class suburban family. She went to a liberal arts school in upstate NY for a generic degree in business. After graduating she decided to move to Camden to keep an eye on her elderly grandfather after a recent stroke and help run his hardware store.

Name: Shane Caughdenoy
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance: Shane stands at about 5'11" with an athletic build. He has dark shaggy hair and skin the color of a Starbucks Iced Caffè Latte. His eyes are a warm brown and he has a quick smile. He has a casual, confident air about him.
Personality: Shane is friendly and fun. Always up for a good time- Shane is very spontaneous and sometimes it seems as though he never quite grew up. He is the kind of guy who has no qualms about building sand castles on a sunny day or watching Disney movies. He has an endless surplus of energy and Shane sometimes has issues sitting still. He seems to collect information and has hundreds of useless facts and seems to know the rules of just about every game imaginable.
Background: Shane moved around a lot as a kid. His father- an innovative CEO with a history of turning failing companies around- was in high demand and changed jobs (and locations) every five years or so. But the family had a beach house in Camden and no matter where their permanent residence was, they always spent their summers in the small beach town. After college he learned that the Camden school district was looking for a history teacher and so he sent his resume in. Shane has been there ever since. During the summers he does landscaping for people in Camden.

Shelby sat at one of the tables at The Drip. Although she planned on eating alone, she had chosen a table for two on purpose- experience had taught her that if people thought you were waiting for someone they would ignore you. Ideally, Shelby wouldn't be eating in a coffee shop but she and her beat up old Ford Escort had pulled into town late the previous evening, too late to do anything about the cabinets that contained exactly: one serving of lucky charms that was "best before 2001," flour, a half empty box of spaghetti and a can of refried beans. The only items in the fridge that she had been able to identify were mustard and beer, everything else looked like something you would see in a science lab or perhaps a horror movie. Thinking of the state of the house, Shelby pulled a pen out of the laptop bag at her feet and began a to do list on her napkin as she waited for her food.

Besides grocery shopping, she had to deal with a mountain of dirty laundry and a sink full of dirty dishes, the whole house needed a serious cleaning while the outside needed some paint and basic repairs. The lawn needed to be mowed and the gutters needed to be cleaned. Bills had to be paid. If that was the state of Grandpa Henry's house, Shelby didn't even want to think about the store.

She took a sip of her coffee. It was black and so strong it took on a personality of it's own, just like Shelby liked it. That was the way Henry took his coffee too. When she was little, she would wake up early on vacations and wander into the kitchen. He pour a small cup of coffee for her while he made breakfast for the family. She remembered that she had hated the taste but loved that Grandpa Henry thought that, at ten, she was grown up enough to drink it. When Henry had fallen just before graduation, and her parents had asked if she would go to Camden to help out, Shelby thought it would be easy. After all, what would be better than living on the beach with her childhood hero? She hadn't realized though, that the man who taught her to sail and play poker might not be the person she would be who she would live with once he was released from the hospital.

Shane awoke to the shriek of a seagull and the warmth of the sun on his back. As opened his eyes to see the sparse grass of a yard a few feet below him, which was perplexing for a moment until he realized he was lying on a hammock.He flipped over onto his back, glancing around for a moment to make sure that he was, in fact, in his own hammock and not his neighbor's (it had happened before). Shane threw an arm over his face, hiding the criss-crossing pattern of diamonds printed on his face from his impromptu bed and sheilding his eyes from the sun. He had gone out the previous night with some of the other teachers to celebrate the end of another school year. It had been awhile since he had to piece together an evening from fragments of memories.

He reached into his pocket, he felt a piece of paper, which he assumed was his reciept which meant he had created an open tab for himself last night. Shane reached past the paper for his phone, figuring he didn't really want to know how money he had spent just yet. He glanced through his texts and phone calls to find that he hadn't done anything too embarrassing. He had texted a couple of his buddies from the Lacrosse team and told an ex that he missed her "sooooooooo" much. And that he couldn't remember which key unlocked his door so he would be sleeping outside on his hammock if she wanted to stop by. Fortunately she lived in Boston and hated Shane, so there was no chance that she would ever stop by or even dignify any of his messages with a response.

Grinning, Shane stood up and headed into the house. After a shower and breakfast, he printed out a set of signs for his summer landscaping business then set out towards town to hang them up. Landscaping was the perfect summer job because it kept him busy and required little skill. He did a lot of work for the vacationers but found some from the townies as well. Today he planned to put a flyer in every mailbox in town, or at least every mailbox until he got distracted. He started with his neighbor's house and continued down the street, whistling as he walked.

Liam groaned quietly when the sun fell across his face, rousing him from a deep, satisfying sleep. He rolled over on his bed, slowly sitting up and glanced around the spacious, messy apartment. He loved his place, it was just one large room with an average-sized bathroom off to the side. After dressing and grabbing a quick breakfast, he headed down the two flights of stairs and out, onto the town.

He didn't know what he was going to do that day, the last few years, especially in the last months, he had been holed up in the garage, working on Eleanor, but she was finally done and he was free. Liam soaked up the warm sun, a small smile flitting across his face when he saw his sister's car parked in front of The Drip, along with quite a few locals and Shelby, Henry's granddaughter. Liam entered the air conditioned diner, ignoring the somewhat disapproving looks he received.

Adriana was eating at the diner, chatting with Rosie, one of the waitresses. His light eyes flickered over the crowd until he spotted Shelby. Liam had known Henry since he was a child, and was fond of the old man. Making his way over to her, he attempted to smile in greeting, though it didn't come across in the friendly manner that he had intended. He wasn't comfortable striking up conversations with people he'd been around his entire life, let alone strangers.

"Hi," he began, his deep voice low and smooth, "I just wanted to see how Henry was doing."

Adriana finished her breakfast slowly, savoring the more or less home-cooked food. The past semester she had lived off of coffee, alcohol and peanut butter, so real food was rarity that she always accepted. She fell into a steady conversation with Rosie, a girl she had known in high school, until she finished the food. She knew when her brother entered the diner, but wasn't offended when he didn't immediately come and say hello, they would see one another at family dinner the next night or sometime between them. As far as siblings were concerned, they got along extremely well, but they didn't find the need to talk at every given opportunity.

Paying for her food, she left, briefly glancing at her brother, surprised that he was talking to a girl. But, what was more surprising was that she had no idea who the girl was, which was rare in Camden. Adriana grabbed her over-sized beach bag out of her car, as it already had all her essentials and the beach was only a short walk away.

As she was heading down the sidewalk, a slow, lascivious smile curved her full lips upward as she recognized a mop of dark brown hair. Mr. Caughdenoy had been her history teacher her senior year of high school, though she had known who he was before that when he visited during the summer; her brother had hung around in the same crowd, even though he was younger. She moved easily towards him, her smile wide and friendly.

In the crowded coffee shop, Shelby had blocked out the steady stream of conversations that flowed around her so it took her a moment to realize that someone was speaking to her. She looked up from her to do list to see a tall young man, maybe her age with icy blue eyes. He looked familiar but Shelby was terrible with names. She bit her lip for a moment, wondering what to say. Had it been some nosey neighborhood gossip, Shelby would have simply smiled and said that he was doing great, thanks. But she had a feeling that this person genuinely wanted to know, which made answering much more difficult.

She could have told him the truth, that he hadn't even recognized her when she had stopped to visit him the night before. That the strong hands that had spent hours teaching her to tie every knot that he knew shook when he had lifted the remote to turn off his television. That the loud booming voice that had been perfect for campfire stories had faded until it was just louder than a whisper. But telling this stranger the truth would mean accepting it, something that Shelby wasn't ready to do just yet.

"The doctor's are happy with his recovery," Shelby answered softly, lifting her mug to her lips to take a sip before continuing, "He should be ready to come home sometime next week."

Shane grinned at the sight of Adrianna. She had been in his class the year before, his first year at Camden. While some of her classmates had been challenging, to say the least, Adrianna had done well. And he had always hung out with Liam during his summers, even when everyone else started looking at Liam as though he was a serial killer Shane stuck by his side. But he'd never been the type of person to take stock in what other people were saying.

"You can go back to calling me Shane again," He laughed. Shane loved teaching but he hated being known as 'Mr. Caughdenoy.' It sounded so stiff, formal, and boring, three things that Shane definitely wasn't. This past year he had compromised, encouraging his students to call him 'Mr. C' instead. "And I'm just doing some advertising so I can eat and pay bills this summer. Need any yardwork or landscaping?" Shane joked, handing her a flyer, just in case.

Dacey drove slowly through town, seeing many familiar faces. Everyone had really come home for the summer, with amazing stories to tell. On the other hand, she had been stuck in Camden all year and had hardly made any new friends after just moving here from Alabama. Malibu barked obnoxiously out the window at a guy stuffing papers into a mail box, and a girl walking with him. "Malibu hush! Don't be rude!". As her 67" Impala cruised noisily down the street, Dacey sped up to avoid any awkward glances from the couple Malibu had just pointed out.

After reaching town, she pulled up to the hardware store, grabbing her list and turning off her car. Malibu jumped excitedly out and followed Dacey casually into the store. Despite curious glances, no one said anything to Dacey as usual. She grabbed a cart and began hunting down her much needed items for the house. After loading the cart up, she headed to checkout. The cashier finished ringing up her numerous items, which totaled to $350. Dacey pulled cash out of her wallet she had saved from tips and handed it to the cashier. "Well ma'am that sure is a lot of money!" The old lady looked suspiciously at Dacey, but she paid no mind. "Yes ma'am it is" she smiled sweetly.

After loading her car up, Dacey decided to grab a cold drink from the Drip. She parked her car, loaded down with random items as it she had just moved here. Dacey walked into the shop, recognizing many familiar faces, but only giving a simple smile as she was never acquainted with many of them. Malibu sat patiently next to Dacey as she waited in line.

Helen

The wind blew through Helen's hair as she drove down the highway humming to whatever 'hip' song was on the radio. Really, her taste was different than the popular pop song that was on the radio but more like the old kind of music you can find on records like Pat Benatar or Meat Loaf. She has always been a big fan of road trips, and this one actually wasn't that bad. There was time alone to think about the summer coming, to try to remember who was who back in town, and maybe think up some inspiration for a painting. Possibly Helen would paint the "Welcome to Camden" sign that she just passed. That sign hasn't changed since she was a little girl, it brought back memories of family vacations when she was a baby, before everything started to go down hill in the family.

Coming into town you pass the old buildings of the town, where the bricks tell the story of years of ocean salt kissing them. She took in a deep breath of the ocean salt, proving she was right, it was different, but she just shrugged it off and continued more into town to The Drip where she was scheduled to met up with Kyler for lunch. The purring engine fell quiet when i turned it off, then she hopped over the door not bothering to open it. Skipping to the sidewalk she paused, couldn't forget to bring her camera in who knows when she can catch a million dollar shot.

Inside sat many faces, many which Helen really didn't mind to fetch from my mind and match with a name. So, she bounced over to the line standing behind a tall girl with a cute dog sitting by her feet. A playful smile crept across her lips as Helen walked up to the cute little puppy and knelt over to pet him. "Aweh." The tone of her voice was high like she was talking to a baby, "What's his name?" her soft brown eyes flickered up to the tall pretty girl who she assumed was the owner.

He nodded at her response, though that hadn't exactly answered the questions. Doctors didn't know as much as they thought they did, he really wanted to know how she though Henry was doing, but he understood if she wasn't willing to share with some random guy. When his grandmother had fallen ill the year before, he hadn't talked to it about anyone and had taken it fairly hard as she was the only one in the family that even remotely supported him. But that was neither here nor there.

"Well, that's good I guess," he said, keeping his voice as gentle as possible.

Glancing over his shoulder, he realized that his sister had left and that the line had gotten longer. Liam still didn't know what his plans were for that day, but he did know that if he didn't get some coffee soon he was going to become cranky.

"Look, I have to go get some coffee, but if you need help with anything just let me know. Henry's a good guy, I'd like to do something for him."

Liam attempted another small smile before heading towards the line. He recognized Helen in front of him, amused by her reaction to the dog. There was something about women and dogs. Liam had been working with Kyler for the past three years or so in the shop, just had the day off. He was aware who Dacey was, but that was about it.

Shane had gotten the better, more studious side of her at school, simply because she had been warned by Liam not to give him a hard time. Not that she had minded getting into an argument with him about politics or differing views, but she had done the work and gotten the grades, making it mildly more acceptable. Nonetheless, he had been deemed lucky by her other teachers.

"I don't know Mr. Caughdenoy," she said obstinately, cocking an eyebrow at him, "Shane seems so informal at this point. Plus I know how much you like being called Mr. Caughdenoy."

Even when he had been there teachers and they had talked about papers or done any projects after school he had insisted that she call him Shane, and she had consented without much argument. Though, now he had no authority over her and she felt no need to abide by what he said. When he handed her a flyer, she perused the piece of paper quickly and shrug lifting her slender shoulders upward, sliding it into her bag.

"I can give it to my parents for you, they're always looking for people to do their work for them." The statement was said with her usual lightness though there was something slightly dark behind her words.

Katherine Verdon 'Kat'
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: Kat stands at about 5'9" all leg, shorter than most models would be normally, but her looks made up for it. She has long dark hair and tanned skin making her almost 'exotic'. Kat's a pretty girl but doesn't wear much make-up unless she has too for work. She's thin with somewhat of an athletic build/tone.
Personality: Kat has a kind heart but has her moments. Although she is extremely outgoing, she can come across as shy at first. People expect her to have a snippy model attitude but in reality, she'd rather be looked at for her art than for her modeling.
Background: Kat was born in Camden and has remained here all her life, besides going to school only a half hour away for the last few years. Her family lives right on the beach so it's no surprise where she gets her tan skin and athletic frame from. She's been into art her entire life, sketching and painting all she could to build the amazing portfolio that got her into art school. Her modeling career also took off at a young age and even though she was more into her passion for art, her photographs and shows always seemed to get the limelight.
Other: Kat literally just got off the plane from Europe where she took her final semester abroad, for art that is. Although her mother had also found a few modeling acts along the way, she traveled to different countries to take professional classes and has some work featured in a few galleries.

Kat sat up in bed, it was already noon and she was seriously jet-lagged. She hadn't even been home a day yet but she already noticed how weird everything felt, since everything was a lot different than what she had gotten used to in Europe the last couple of months. Europe was nice, she made some friends, met a guy, and celebrated her 21st which turned out to not be all that thrilling since the drinking age was lower over there. Kat knew it would all come to an end eventually and now that she was back to reality she was really hoping she'd find something interesting to spark up her summer.

By 12:45 she was out the door and off to find something to eat. She knew she would see anyone and everyone at The Drip, but it was the only place with a decent cup of coffee, and at this hour she seemed to need twelve of those. After ordering a cup with a shot of espresso, she sat down alone in the corner of the tiny cafe and pulled out her sketchbook from her bag. Kat knew everyone here and everyone knew Kat, even if it wasn't personally, her face was in a couple old magazines laid out on a few of the coffee tables.

Appearance: Reece isn't you average girl. Her jet black hair is intertwined with blonde streaks that set off her electric blue eyes. Flawless sun kissed skin shows her toned, but still curved body. Reece has her stomach and hips pierced and 3 tattoos, one of a dove on her left shoulder with the name 'Audrine' in it, the second and third are the words love (on her left hip) and hate (on her right hip). Reece has been called gorgeous many times before.
Personality: Reece maybe gorgeous, but she is your typical troubled child. Her terrible home life and days on the street has made her hard and un-trusting. Though she pretends to be open with people, she hasn't trusted anyone since her best friend died. A smile will some times show the pearl white teeth, she tried so hard to keep. Reece will open up, but must trust you completely.
Background: Reece was thrown out of her house at age 16 in Orange County California, but managed to stay in school and pass with a B average. She got a job as a bar maid and was asked to move to Camden to help out.

A sigh escaped Reece's pink lips as she stepped into the humid air of Camden. It was the first time she had set foot outside since moving in, Reece could only take so much of laying around before she got bored out of her mind.
"Might as well meet people now." She mumbled to herself and began her walk into town. She could have taken her car, if it worked. A frown found its way on to Reece's features and she tried to figure out how to get her car fixed, maybe that would be second task for the day. Her first was to find a cup of coffee. Reece woke up this morning with the realization that she had gone through all her coffee and was now completely out. "That what I get for not checking how much I had." She mumbled again and stepped foot into the busy little town. Camden felt very quaint and small, at least compared to Orange County and Reece loved it. She got tired of all the hustle and bustle of California and wanted a place to relax and forget. A fresh start. Exactly what she needed.
Reece stopped and looked at the small sign that said, The Drip. Many couples and singles sat eating breakfast or drinking coffee, looked good enough for Reece. Taking a deep breath she pushed open the door and mentally prepared for the stares as she walked into the room. Ignoring the jaw dropping stares from the men and the jealous glares from their counter parts, Reece stood up to the counter and could have done a dance because they had lattes.
"One latte, please." She said to the girl at the counter and took a seat on one of the bar stools that sat bolted down in front of the white counter.

"Thanks," Shelby said with a nod, giving him a small smile in return before glancing down at her list and taking another sip of her coffee. Really, she needed another column, for things having to do with the store. Since Henry's stroke, their neighbor had been working at the store from 8-10 when she could. But she was an older woman as well, for whom working the ancient register had been challenging enough. Mrs. Abbott said that the shelves were looking bare. And who knows the last time they had paid any bills or taxes.

The store needed regular hours and the doctors said that Henry shouldn't be left alone. Mrs. Abbott had kindly offered to keep an eye on him when Shelby was at the store, but the woman had a husband and a life. What Shelby needed was help at the store. With this realization, she gathered her napkin with the hasty to do list, slipped it into her messenger bag and left money on her table for the coffee along with a generous tip.

Rather than heading right for the door, Shelby stepped toward the line where Liam was waiting patiently. "Hey actually," She paused and ran a hand through her hair. Shelby wasn't used to asking for help, but he had already offered so she didn't feel quite so weird about asking, "Do you know anyone who's looking for a part-time job?"

Shane rolled his eyes as Adriana joked with him about his name. When she mentioned her parents, he pretended not to notice the undertones of what she had said though in reality that was exactly why he had given her a flyer. Her folks had money to burn and didn't want to do the work, while Shane charged a fair price for this services. The situation, from his perspective, was entirely ideal.

"You went to Duke, right?" Shane asked, changing the subject. He didn't bother pausing to let her verify this because Shane knew he was right. Shane was good at remembering things like that. Dacey waited patiently in line as the Drip began to fill up with it's morning customers. A girl approached Malibu, who wagged her tail with acceptance. "Her name is Malibu and I'm Dacey" She smiled, watching as Helen adored her dog. She finally reached the counter and ordered "I'll have an Iced mocha latte and one water." She payed, then stepped aside so Helen could order.

Helen's hands ran over the soft fur of the animal, smiling at him for a moment while Dacey spoke. What an exotic name, made her think of the place with it's warm California sun and tall palm trees. Took her a couple blinks to realized that the slender girl had continued in line and ordered. Nervously, she laughed while standing up and stepping forward to the counter. This was the first time that Helen had actually order coffee from The Drip, before she was to young to even mind drinking coffee while now she was tired from the drive and was actually craving a sweet French Vanilla Cappuccino. Eyes wondered over the menu that hung over the waitress's head even though she had mentally already made my choice.

She leaned forward slightly to where her hands touched the top of the counter, "Can i have a French Vanilla Cappuccino?" Helen's voice sweet as her big eyes met with the waitress's who smiled and nodded to her request. Stepping aside she turned and leaned against the counter to wait for her drink then she happened to over hear what Shelby asked. She thought over an answer in her head before opening her mouth to speak.

"I could use a job." She cracked a slight smile after realizing that she had kind of been ease dropping in the conversation.

After a while of turning wrenches and getting dripped on by whatever fluid the van decided to spew on Kyler Tony walked over with a hand squeezing his shoulder. "You did a good job, now go see your sis, tell her 'hi' for me, kid." He smiled at Kyler the caterpillar of a mustache wiggled as he did so. He smiled in return and picked up a rag trying to wipe off his hands a little bit.

"Thanks, Tony." Quickly he cleaned up his tools, while trying to clean up his hands again in the process. When he was finished he left the shop excited to see his little sister again after a year, they were close but after she went off to school she went off to her own world without him.

The coffee shop, The Drip, was no more than a block or two from the shop so he really didn't bother to get in his truck to drive. From the outside, the shop looked busy with folk who were regulars but also some who Kyler had never seen before. Helen's pale skin and dark curl hair caught his eye the moment he walked in but also a tan slender girl with black hair caught his eye. For a moment her tried to figure out who she was but couldn't link a name. He'd have to ask Helen.

Reece finished her latte and decided that she needed to get her car fixed quickly, if she was going to start her job soon. Finally catching the cashiers attention she asked, "Do you know where the nearest car repair is?" This came out louder then intended because of the noise level and Reece's smokey voice caused the place to quiet down, great just more attention.
Eventually the noise returned to the cafe and the cashier smiled at her. "It's your lucky day, that guy who just walked in works for one of the local garages." Pointing to a guy whose bangs were gelled and standing next to another girl.
"My lucky day indeed." Reece said and thanked the cashier, letting her return to her previous job. Slowly, Reece slid off the bar stool and pulled her cut off jean shorts down a little farther, allowing her lower back to peak out from under the black tank top she was wearing. Silently she walked up to a small group of people and taking a deep breath tapped the guy (Kyler) on the back.
"Hi, I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, but I heard you fix cars?" She asked with a small grimace, hoping she wasn't being rude.

Of course Helen has sparked up friendly conversation with someone, so Kyler just walked up into line behind the two she was speaking with. They exchanged smiles, silently greeting each other without interrupting her conversation, kind of like their own telepathic talk. He stood waiting long enough to run a hand through his hair, and look at the menu as if he actually cared what was on it until he was tapped. Brown eyes met with icy blue ones making Kyler crack a half smile as she spoke. Took him a moment to register what she had said and to also recognize that she was the girl he was checking out when he walked it causing him to turn on the charm a little more.

"Um, yeah..." He looked down at my white wife beater touching it softly, well, was white beater which was now covered in grease stains from this morning. "What was your first clue?" The toner tone was laced with a joking tone as he playfully laughed.

Liam glanced up in surprise when he heard Shelby's voice. He had meant what he said about helping, but he hadn't expected her to take him up on the offer. Before he could offer up his help, Helen offered up her own services. His light eyes swept towards the girl in surprise, simply because she hadn't been in the conversation before he quickly flicked them back to Helen.

"Um, yeah, and if you need more help, I can take some shifts," he offered with a small shrug.

He stepped up when it was his turn and ordered a large, black coffee. Liam had been drinking coffee since he was thirteen and unless he had two cups every morning he was even more sullen than usual. Taking the few bucks out, he paid the woman, thanked her quietly and turned back to the conversation

Liam glanced past them briefly when Kyler entered the building, nodding slightly in greeting. He realized that Helen must have just gotten into town and that they were meeting for lunch or something along those lines. A small pang of guilt rolled through him when he realized that he didn't even know when Adriana had gotten into town, though he assumed it had been that morning or the night before.

As Shane rolled his eyes her smirk widened slightly, though she decided to lay off her sarcasm slightly. She pulled her long hair over her shoulder as he began to talk about Duke and college, which made her wrinkle her nose slightly. Adriana nudged his arm slightly and slowly began walked with him so that he continue distributing his flyers.

"It was okay, I guess. It was just different, I missed being here. First semester was hard just because of the adjustment but second semester I bogged myself down with classes which just made it worse," she said, her willowy voice suddenly soft and vulnerable.

Adriana adjusted the bag on her shoulder, instantly regretting her words. She was whining, about a fantastic school, simply because she hadn't wanted to adjust. She loved Camden and had wanted to attend the school half an hour away but she had bended to her parents will and moved to the large campus.

"But, on a bright side, the parties were always amazing," she said with a small laugh.

Will and Noah stepped from the surf mid-morning, both exhausted. They had had three lessons apiece that morning and had been in the warm water since before the sun rose. In silence they went back to their parents house, or rather their house and showered. Will flopped down on the couch, impatiently waiting for his twin who always seemed to take longer than him to get ready.

They walked the short distance to town, an easy conversation falling between the two brothers. Even though the bickered occasionally, they were best friends and got along extremely well. They were adorned in their normal attire, casual khakis and loose shirts; blue on Will and a soft green on Noah.

Upon entering the Drip, Noah headed to the counter, easily sliding through the growing crowd, to grab food for the two of them while Will headed off to find seats. Will felt an easy smile crossing his features when he spotted Kat sitting in the corner. They had all graduated together and he had missed the girl.

"Well, well, look what the cat drug in," he said as he approached her, intentionally using the pun with an effervescent smile.

Reece cracked a smile and a small blush rose to her cheeks, "Well I wasn't exactly looking at your shirt." She said, letting her flirtatious side show. "But I need my 1978 Mustang fixed, it got me into town and now won't start." She explained trying to give him most of the story, without taking forever. "Do you think you have the ability to fix it?" She smiled and gave a wink, to let him know she was kidding. A sudden smack from her conscious told her that she needed to back off and stop acting like she was. 'Come on Reece, you know better than this.' She thought in her head, but continued to stare at him.

Shelby bit her lip her lip as she turned to the girl who had just spoken, looking her over warily. Shelby was naturally skeptical. First the girl had obviously been eavesdropping. And then she had eagerly jumped in to offer help, no questions asked. For all she knew, Shelby could have been looking for someone to clean toilets. Of course, that helpful attitude would be useful in a retail setting. Especially if she was working with Shelby, who assumed that every customer was like her and wanted space to think as they did their shopping.

Shelby had to wonder whether the girl even knew anything about hardware. Shelby wasn't exactly an expert but she could handle basic repairs; however, because they were both young women, customers would naturally doubt their knowledge. She also knew she wasn't exactly in a situation where she could be picky, but she was relieved, nevertheless, when Liam offered to pick up a few hours as well.

"It's just a family owned hardware store," Shelby warned, offering an apologetic shrug, "And I haven't looked at our finances yet, so I'm not sure what I can offer in terms of pay or hours and benefits but I can promise to keep you properly caffinated at least."

Shane nodded thoughtfully as she spoke, then laughed as she joked about her social life, "Well as long as the parties are good who cares about the rest of it? You can get that anywhere." He was vaguely aware that as a teacher Shane probably wasn't supposed to talk to his old students about partying. But Adriana had been Liam's sister before she'd been his student. And Shane was also the teacher who recommended that his students pick a school based on two things. The first was the quality of the food that the school served, specifically whether they had self-self ice cream in their dining hall. And the second was whether the school had any resident ghosts because ghosts gave a school personality and made college halloweens just that much better.

"But yeah, I can see how it would be tough going from a small school to a big one," Shane had personally opted for a smaller school, eventually settling on one with just over 5,000 students. After moving around so much as a kid, he had been tired of not knowing people. Shane had gone to UConn once, to visit his friend for the school's infamous Spring Weekend. UConn, where the campus was literally its own city, and shut down for a huge party that lasted from thursday through sunday. He remembered listening to his friend map out their night so that they could hit each of the apartment complexes that were supposed to be best on that night and he remembered that the ratio of people his friend met for the first time that night to the people he already knew was probably 20:1. The weekend was a blast, but he had been more than happy to return to his small school where if he didn't know another persons's name Shane could at least recognize them.

Dacey smiled at Helen, but didn't feel the need to linger and make things awkward. She felt that her personality gave the wrong first impression . Malibu trotted intently behind Dacey as she searched for a seat amongst the crowd. She found a table along the back wall adjacent to an exotic looking girl with black hair and a few empty tables. Dacey took the top off the water and set it on the ground for Malibu, while she pulled out her list of new home improvements items to plan out what needed to get done first. Well, she had a few bad outlets that needed fixing and a toilet that wouldn't shut off. Of course she knew very little about electrical work or plumbing, but she was mildly confident she could figure it out. She grabbed a pen and a napkin and began sketching her house to excitedly plan where her new furniture was going.
