Didn't get a whole lot of moisture but it's better than nothing.

I'm here :smileywavey:

Sent my mare off that I've had for 12+ years...I will miss the ol gal. My new boy is dreamy however...and the right color...Grullo tobiano! Yummy!

Still trying to heal. Osteomyelitis is by far the most painful thing I have ever lived through...I had a good day 2 days ago, no pain, no spasms, and then overdid it. Today I am walking nearly upright. We move out of our house today and in with the inlaws while we build our place on their 50+ acres. Hubby promises we'll have a home by the first of next year. Pray for me :twitch:

Found ya'll. Doing much better today. Fever finally broke late last night. Slept really good, like 12 hours good, and besides looking horrible, I feel almost human again. Just gonna be really weak for a few days.

Slip - :angel3: I hope you get your home. Fingers crossed also.

QH - It just drizzled at our place too. But it was moisture from the sky plus thunder so I was :yahoo: . I miss our thunderstorms that used to come through.

Everyone else :smileywavey: .

Wow, what a suprise on a Monday morning.
We had Cady this weekend. We carved a pumpkin. A itty bitty one and she took it home with her. She loved sticking her hands into the pumpkin guts :rotf:
Needless to say it's been close to 15 years since I've carved a pumpkin. I forgot how hard and messy the things are.
Eveyone have a great day :smileywavey:

Peppy what did you have, there are so many viruses going around? And the Dr. told Amanda Bronchitis IS contagious. I did not know that, but her BFF has it too, so I guess it's true.

We probably got 1/8 of an inch of rain yesterday. Jason said they had enough at his place to puddle.

WELL...JR surely you took pics of Cady carving pumpkins? taps foot

They are messy, I do not like cleaning them out but I like to carve. We haven't bought ours yet but there's a little pumpkin patch here in town we'll hit this week to support the Church sponsoring it.

Slip you are always in my prayers. Happy to hear you feel better. Excited for you and the new horse and the new house! Posted Image for continued healing.

Robert, if you read this, we haven't forgotten about you. Hope you are feeling better by now. Posted Image Posted Image

Haffy, Mare, Bec, Posted Image

Trace started to feel better by Sat. afternoon, so his Dad picked him up and he said he felt good the rest of the weekend. He shot a squirrel and his Dad fried it up for supper last night. He was so excited.

But this morning he woke up dry heaving! Posted Image

I can't make the call to keep him home, so I called Amanda and she red the riot act to him, if he stayed home...he was bed-bound and I am his warden until tomorrow morning. Posted Image

Nothing else going on. Hope everyone has a great day be safe.

Jeez! Everyone is sick! Glad to hear that you're feeling better at least PeppySue!

JR we do need pictures, I need some ideas! I have not carved pumpkins in years either. I'm really excited to be in a house this year instead of an apartment- I can't wait to decorate the yard!!!

Hey Slip, please share some pics of him, I'm a sucker for a grullo! Are you happy with your mare's new owner? I hate selling horses!

After the four inches we got a couple weeks ago grass started coming up and everything is starting to turn green. It's like spring! It even smells like spring. The weather was cooler last week but rumor has it that the highs for this week are in the 90's. Isn't it October?!

I have found two more training projects since one of my dunalino mares left. One of them is a newly retired broodmare; I'm whipping her back into shape so she can do kids lessons. The other is cute little red dun mare that I'm going to start showing in November. My yellow mare is doing awesome, I am really looking forward to working on getting her collected the next couple weeks.

For my birthday I asked my mom to ship my english saddles to me (I left most of my tack in Iowa when I moved). So they are in the mail and should be here sometime this week! :yay:

Good Mid-day! I started out with morning but realized it isn't morning anymore.

JR - I hate pumpkin guts...but I like to carve them. Tyler and I will be doing that this week or weekend.

QH - Trace is probably sick from eating a squirrel...ick! lol I hope he is ok and feels better soon.

Slip - I hope you can get over the soreness soon. Prayers you have a home sooner rather than later. Living with anyone is hard, especially in laws I would think.

Uh.....mind when blank.

Hope everyone is doing ok and have a great Monday!!

I'm having teacher issues with Tyler's school. It's a long story currently punctuated with the teacher forgetting to send home the report cards last week and her cancelling our conference for this afternoon. Pray for guidance for me to figure out how to handle this without it causing strife to Tyler in the end.

Well not sure what bug I picked up. Didn't go to the doctor. Started with a sore throat last Wed, fever Thurs-Sun with sinus drainage, headache, body ache, chills, with the highest fever (over 100) on Saturday. Temp normal today and a nice residual cough.

MareKrazed - :angel3: that it works out with the teacher. Sounds like a real mess.

Blondie - That's exciting you are getting your saddles. Your projects sound interesting.

QH - Hope Trace gets to feeling better.

JR - It's been awhile since I carved a pumpkin. I do remember the mess though.

My dog Dakota has to have surgery. He has a tumor thing on his side and it was biopsied in August and was noncancerous. Since then it has really grown so my mom took him to the vet today while I was at work. It was rebiopsied and shown to be precancerous so out it has to come. It is bigger than a softball. The vet said it was very common and he should make a full recovery. So his surgery is set for Nov. 9. I will be so glad when it is done and he is okay.

Good morning

Aww JR those are precious pics. I love her Pebbles piggy tails! A lot of kids don't like the squishy part of pumpkins, but she seems just fine with it. Thanks for posting those.

QH
I agree with Mare, Trace probably got sick from eating squirrel. His mother doesn't know about that does she?

Uh...well actually...he wasn't going to tell his Mom, but Dad spilled the beans. She asked him was it red or gray, he hemmed and hawed. That's when she told him she didn't want to hear about it.
All the squirrels she released at Troy's have been gray cat squirrels. Yesterday Trace told me it was gray, his thinking is, because he got sick Sunday evening, he thinks Karma bit him in the hiney on that one. Posted Image

Peppy Posted Image for Dakota, I'm sure everything will go smoothly.

Blondie, I Google free patterns for Jack O Lantern faces off the Internet. I print them out and tape them to the pumpkin and trace the lines with a pencil. I'll post some of the ones we've carved in the past using patterns. They turned out GREAT!

Here's a tip, when cutting the lid, angle the knife down instead of cutting straight up and down. This gives the lid a lip to rest on so it won't fall in when the pumpkin starts to dry out.
Post pics when you get them done.

Mare, Posted Image you can get things resolved at Ty's school.
I'm so glad it's Amanda who has to do that...I hate dealing with the politics of ISD's these days.

Do you still take Ty on the Polar Express? We went for the first time last year, splurged on 1st class tickets, it was so much fun! We're going at night this year to enjoy the Christmas lights and staying one night in Palestine. I'm hoping to do a Light tour through the Historic part of town. I warned Jason he'd have to listen to Christmas music and the story being read. Posted Image

The hot chocolate was the best we've ever had! I came home and made a big batch of Killer hot chocolate, bought chocolate sprinkles and Redi-whip so we could have it every night and remember the train. Good times!

I need to let Jody go and pick up the house, the Direct guy is coming to fix the satellite. It just went out yesterday Posted Image
I'll post some jack o lantern pics when I get back.

JR - What a cutie patootie punking carver you have there too!! Who is that little thing??

Peppy - Prayers for Dakota, I'm sure he'll be ok - I hate the waiting and wondering part too.

I had a doctor's appointment today and didn't really find out much....just more questions. I'm much more the find and attack type vs the hide and watch type. :surrender:

Not much going on in my area...wish I had more local horse friends. I have a couple, none of which I've had a chance to ride with except one. Haven't been riding much, a lot going on and it gets a bit dull riding by myself.

Good morning and Welcome Blaze.

Hi, I'm Michelle, been married a long time to Paul, we have grown kids in their early 30's, Jason & Amanda, who has a son Trace 11yo whom I love more than life itself. We have 5 dogs too many, a cat and 3 horses. I'm about 60 mi. north of Houston just off I-45.

Tell us a little about you... What area in Texas are you in? Are you married, children and about your 4-legged family. With pics if you have them.

I am going to be spending tomorrow cleaning and bedding stalls getting ready for the rain/cold we are supposed to get tomorrow night!

I just read some areas of N. Tx. might get snow. I think we'll be in the 40's here. Sure hope we get some rain ahead of the front. But usually by the time the front hits us, it's rained itself out.
Glad you're here, stick around and get to know us.

Epona...you're no stranger. And we're not really that far from each other. I've been to Bedias a few times, it is waaay out there.

Mare I agree, when it comes to your health a pro-active approach is the only way to go. I hope you know something ASAP

It is very hard to live with an ailment and not have a diagnosis. It took several specialists almost 3 years to diagnose Paul with Pulmonary Fibrosis, all while the disease was damaging 3/4ths of his lungs. Not that there's any treatment anyway and the damage is permanent.

We took Trace to his Fall Festival at school last night.
The big hit with the kids was the horse trailer jail, 3 tickets to put someone in jail and 2 to bail them out, but you couldn't post your own bail!

Trace put his Mom in and then disappeared with all the tickets! She's claustrophobic, so she was going crazy inside, kids were rough-housing and she got hit several times. She finally told them she was going to bust some butt if they hit her again. lol

And then the sweetest little blond-haired boy, couldn't have been more than 5, walked up and got her attention. He told her he would bail her out if she gave him 2 tickets. Trace had run off with all the tickets, so she gave the little fella a few bucks to buy some. True to his word, he bought $2 worth and came back and bailed her out. She gave him 4 tickets for his trouble.
I couldn't find him later to take a pic of him cuz he was absolutely precious. And then we learned he did the same thing for our friends...AND she gave him 4 tickets!
The kid was running a racket! Posted Image

Trace abandoning his Mom...she was moaning pathetically here, it was pretty embarrassing.

Posted Image

Guess I better get a move on, I promised myself I was gonna be out of here by 10:00...that ain't happening. Have a great day...be safe

JR- I grew up about 10 minutes from Omaha, NE, in small town Missouri Valley! How did he end up there? Those pictures are adorable, I love that you share pictures of Cady, it's fun watching her grow up.

QH- The bat pumpkin is my favorite! I think we are going to carve some this weekend, I'm also thinking about painting them! Has anyone done this? I'm wondering what kind of paint to use!

Blaze- Welcome! What part of Texas are you in?

I really hope it does not rain tomorrow, it's my birthday and I want to go out!!! :happy0203: It is supposed to rain here Halloween too, and with my luck for once the weather man will be right! What is everyone doing for Halloween?

I got my saddles yesterday! I had to give them a really good cleaning and oiling. This is pretty random, but does anyone know how to clean white fleece pads? I am going to get a new one, but I wanted to clean this one up so I can at least use it during training. I stuck it in the washer, which was a mistake because the cat hair that was stuck to it is now clumped up and stuck to it. It did nothing for the stains. Suggestions?

:smileywavey: a little about myself, Im from Mabank, Tx its a little town in east texas near Cedar Creek Lake. I am fairly recently single, no kiddo's ( unless you count the 4 legged kind!) I have 5 horses currently but that number is constantly changing. I also have 4 dogs, max & hank standard aussies, mattie my mini aussie and patches a blue heeler. Ill post a few pics of my bunch :)

First is a pic of me and my mare Malibu at a show, I lost her about 6 weeks ago left a HUGE hole in my heart.

My newest is Jack, He is a rescue ( severly malnourished) he is my future show propect I love his personality and everything about him, I cannot wait until he is back healthy and fit like he should be :)

He had to borrow a blanket until I got him a more "manly" color

Horse I have had the longest is goldie, she was the first horse I felt comfortable enough to ride and gave me my confidence to ride again after fracturing my back in a riding accident when I was 14. She is just a all around horse I trail ride, take to rodeo's and parades, and hopefully ranch sorting soon.

tanner on left, goldie on the right

Tanner is my 2 year old love bug I saw her picture on the internet at 2 days old and knew I just had to have her, brought her home at 4 months old wild as a march hare and within a day she was in my pocket and never left!!

and last are my 2011 weanlings, farrah and bunny :) farrah is a show/all around prospect and bunny is very cowbred/foundation QH
