Out Of Work Because Of The Tornado Last Night.

Wonder if the company will allow us to file for temp unemployment? I will have to do some research on that.
The tornado wiped out a trailer park just 4 miles from me. It was only a half mile from my house at one point. Thankfully with all the advanced notice, they were warning us 3 days in advance, there were no deaths. Only minor injuries and 8 taken to hospitals. Lots of clean up going on today. I did see the Air Force Tankers flying back in this morning.

I work in the cafeteria at the local aircraft plant. I am just so glad that everyone took these storms seriously. It could have turned out so much worse. We had a score of 9 out of 10 on the thor scale. The time frame that the weather center predicted was right on too. Was between 9pm to 2am. It was about 9:30 when it got here. Came up from Oklahoma as a 3/4 mile wide wedge. They said it was one the ground, up and down, for over 200 miles. At least that is what they were saying on the local news.
Today was a beautiful day. Slight breeze, sunny, and calm. Hope we don't see anything like that again for a long long time. The season has just begun.

but the Democrats believe every day is April 15. " Ronald Reagan

Thanks guys. They are thinking maybe we can go bac Wednesday. I don't see how if half the roof on plant 2 is missing or messed up pretty bad. Suppose to have the electric back on by Tuesday. Guess it is a wait and see type of thing.
I am always impressed at how fast stuff like that can happen, so I wouldn't be surprised if they can pull that off. Assuming there are enough workers to go around; I'm sure all the contractor types in the area are extremely busy.
As far as your job, definitely look into unemployment. In California, they do not pay for the first week of work missed, but I don't know what they situation is where you are. Also, is there federal support for people like you, since it's been declared a disaster? I'd find out.
