You ever try and see if Millie likes M&Ms or raisins? It is amazing what they'll eat if they watch you eat it first.
I had one that would eat nacho flavor doritos

Hi, I started loving horses as a very young child. Used to sneak into the neighbor's field to get pet their retired plow horses at age 4. Mom wouldn't let me near horses on my own til age 12. Then I practically moved in with my uncle who owned a Riding Stable in Medford Mass.

Learned Natural Horsemanship, Then it was just "Horsemanship" from him and stayed there taking out Trail Rides, giving the occasional lesson, working in the tack and feed store, etc.

7yr itch came when I was 19 and I had an opportunity to work for Herve Filion who was a very successful Harness Driver and was opening a new Training Facility in N.J.
This was great money (had a house rent free all to myself) and they decided they wanted me as a Trainer. I learned to train horses for the cart and everything necessary to keep a racehorse in top form.

I did this for over 20 years occasionally switching from training on the track to training the 2yo's at the farm (my personal fav). Then took a hiatus from racing and tookover a boarding facility for layups.

Presently I have my own place and train horses for driving (mostly minis and a few drafts).

My new love is MULES! I could go on and on how smart they are and how loving!
My mule is 12ish and is named Millie. If I had had an Uncle who had mules I would never have any horse knowledge. Good thing he didn't!
