  2. toeing out in hind legs???

She has had regular trimming but I've also heard that corrective trimming on foals can be bad too...I'll ask our farrier what he thinks. She is very refined too so I think that is part of it. now that you mention it wrangler, I have noticed that when she needs to stop, she can, immediately and correctly. She is a miniature filly, and I have heard that (in addition to working ranch horses)miniature driving horses are preferred to be slightly cowhocked. Thanks for the info eveyone. Any more thoughts?

  4. toeing out in hind legs???

One of our foals seems straight, maybe slightly cowhocked when she stands but when she walks her back hooves seem to toe out. We're trying to determine if she is correct or possibly flawed in conformation. Any thoughts? She has very good movement at a trot and I'm wondering if the toeing out simply allows for her to move better, or if its something bad. It's almost like she walks tippy-toe in back sometimes. [ 10-13-2005, 08:01 PM: Message edited by: popcorn ]

  6. Mini Rubbing Mane off.....HELP

there isn't much you can do. You can try using some "ich spray" to prevent him from sratching. We have several minis who rubbed their manes out. If you want to prevent this put him in metal panels...no wood, wire, or rough scratching places, or perhaps hot wire! Make sure there is nothing he can use to rub on. As for rapid hair growth I don't know . It's been my experience that mini's hair grows faster than big horses though.

  8. Overbites

My 3 month old filly has a slight overbite. How common is this? Should I be concerned or do babies' bites change? Both parents have good bites and her bite was correct to start with. Also, our 4 month old colt started w/slight overbite and is now just about perfect.
