  1. For those who didnt believe me a while ago...

Very. He likes to move...doesnt matter whether he's balanced or what he's doing is actually a gait, he likes to move. He gets frisky and excited very easily...it's just when i tell him WHAT kind of movement to do, he isnt so eager to comply...he does the gait..but in his own funky kind of way, at least for a little while, then he settles down and starts to listen...strangely enough he's a great ride and is very well behaved. He's just playfull and we're convinced right now that he's observant and experimenting with what he can do...We're training him dressage so anything he does that we ask him to do, even in the fewest of steps, we praise him like he;s the king of the world. He's a good boy. i love him

100% Andy. He's a youngin, But eager to learn...doesnt scare easily, but he tends to scare himself..apparently cantering is a scary transition
  3. So this is Hidalgo "Airoso" He has Grown a LOT since we first got him and training has been going well...he still feels the need to get scared when asked to canter and jerks forward and jumps into it, but once he's in it he's ok for the most part. What do you think?
  4. Flies, Flies, and more Flies

ive never had good times using bronco spray...spraying that stuff is like spraying water...but wet naps can be found at drug stores...cheap stuff..im not saying its a perfect fly repellant but its good for those hard to spray areas and areas needing extra attention

ok...my barn is notorious for going through Fly Spray like its nothing...and we still havnt found a commercial brand that works...from what ive read on this board..a brand called Piranna is quite good...Bronco sucks...stay away....Zonk-it isnt great either...sticky poster and paper hung in a barn gets rid of maybe 25% of flies...which seeing how many flies there are around...it isnt all that impressive...What I've found to be a useful remedy is Wet Naps...I think it may be either the smell or the contents....but i take a few of those wipes and rub it down the face, legs, rump, belly and ears...and it serves as a good short term remedy (so if you were outside horseriding or going XC)...thats what i know :-\

  8. We bute horses like its nothing at my barn because we always have lame horses here or there...it should be allright as long as u give your horse the prescribed dose...we usually crush up the bute and put it in a handful of grain or if its an emergency...mash up some carrots and mix in bute and hand feed...that way they have more than the bute in their stomachs and it decreases the chance of stomach ulcers.

  10. what fly sprays are good

ouch...my barn bought Zonk it and wasnt pleased with it..Bronco sucks straight up...we're using a creamy substance now and its better but not great...we're using that and a combination of Wet naps as exrta protection..its also easier on the face and ears...i dont know if its the alcohol or the smell that keeps the bugs away but they work as a good back up solution

  12. The Flies are eating my horse!!!!!

ugh i hate store bought fly spray..you might as well use water! My barn has tryed gels creams "5 star spreay" yea nothing...however...we have found that using "wet naps" works a lot better than that stuff...its no cure...but its better than some of the sprays ive used...and ditto to bandaging up the wounds... I usually tack up.. than take about 4 wet naps and run down the face, legs, rump, ears, and belly.

3dayeventer....GORGEOUS...i love him...all these horses are absolutely beautful..i was never really a fan of dressage because of the boring work that comes with starting out but i quickly learned that fundamentals always lead to the fun stuff And it really brings out the true beauty of Every equine
