  4. Tragedy-- update pictures 5/13, whole body pics!

ok...first of all dont take your vets word on the "never rideable" part because it can happen. My drill team coach and I rescued a horse last summer that had cut the tendon on one of his hind legs and stripped it to the bone.....My mom and my coach have kept him in a cast and constantly cleaned and re-wrapped his leg for almost a year and thanks to their efforts and the efforts of a couple of great vets, he may be rideable again, and even though one vet told us to put him down, another stood up and helped us save this horse's life and let me tell you, he is happy to be alive! Even with his cast he would run around his paddock bucking and playing.....so dont give up...whatever you do... OBTW....there is this FANTASTIC stuff that my vet told us to put on his leg to help with too much proud flesh...It's made by him and worked great!!! It's nothing too major but its main ingrediant is preparation H....He calls it SNAKE OIL....if you would like me to give you his number, i know that he would send it to you...he runs out quite often.......but if you are interested, you can email me anytime! not_4_u_2_touch2003@yahoo.com [ 04-05-2007, 01:29 PM: Message edited by: Punky_Pony ]

  10. well, I was out teaching someone to ride yesterday and a family friend saw me and stopped and said that he knew some people that wanted to hire me to work their horses and haul them to barrel races! I am so happy! I am going to meet the horses today. I told them that I would do it for $7.50 an hour and a 2 hour min per horse. They agreed. Well, I just thought I'd share....let me know what you guys think. btw...the main horse is a 3 y.o. QH gelding.....

  12. State Line Tack.....going...going...

i can really see myself spending some serious money there here pretty soon...
  13. Feeding for Performance Horses

I FEED A 14% PROTEIN FEED ONCE A DAY, AND ALTERNATE BETWEEN A CUP OF PANCAKE SYRUP, AND VEGETABLE OIL IN HER FEED, AND ABOUT A POUND OF SOAKED ALFALFA CUBES ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK. PLUS HER USUAL DAILY FLAKES OF HAY....YOU SHOULD FEED A PERFORMANCE HORSE PELLETS....THEY CANT BE EXPECTED TO BE UP TO OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE WITH JUST HAY ALONE. MAKE SURE YOU FEED AT THE SAME TIME THAT YOU NORMALLY WOULD AT HOME, EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ON THE ROAD. AND ALLOW YOUR HORSE 3 HOURS TO DIGEST THEIR FOOD BEFORE YOUR RUN/S....HOPE THIS HELPS!
  14. question about racing in a PRCA rodeo

you have to buy a permit for the PRCA
