  1. Animal Element

I was wondering if anyone uses the supplement Animal Element Detox or Product X. I've heard great things about them so would like to hear some other opinions.
  2. I have a 6 year old barrel horse who took a bad fall on his second barrel. While he got up and walked off fine, I'm now seeing the aftermath 6 months later of his injury (he has had the whole time off because I couldn't pinpoint what felt wrong.) . Vets could not find it this whole time either, one recommended injecting his SIs because they cannot hold a chiropractic adjustment, but other than that he was given the go ahead. I know the issue lies in the sacrum and surrounding muscles and possibly ligaments. I am having a chiropractor come out to adjust him every other day for a week, followed by acuscope treatments to see if this will hold and help him. My question is, has anyone dealt with a horse that cannot hold an adjustment (and in pain because of this)? Is there any supplement out there than can give them a boost? Someone recommended Silver Lining Herbs to help with the muscle degeneration on the left hip (point of impact). Any thoughts?
  3. Circle Y Flex Trees

I have a Marlene McRae Circle Y Flex tree that I got recently for a gift. I have been reading the pros and cons of the saddles, but would like to hear your opinions as well. I heard there were some issues with the first series of Circle Y flex tree saddles that were sold, but cannot find much information online. Has anyone had pain issues with flex trees? Symptoms? Thank you!

  6. Rock Hard Tight End?

Thank you very much, I have been doing a lot of reading on the magnesium. Is it common to be deficient? Can you recommend any sites with good information!
  7. Rock Hard Tight End?

His pssm tests came back negative. How do I test to see if he is deficient in a vitamin or mineral?
  8. Rock Hard Tight End?

They feel like muscle still, after warming up and moving they get softer but still not normal. His sample was sent in today to test for pssm, maybe I will have an answer soon on what this issue is. The more I read about pssm the more it seems to fit.
  9. Rock Hard Tight End?

Yes he is, but is on a supplements to prevent it.
  10. Rock Hard Tight End?

Thank you for the responses! I am sending in a sample for testing tomorrow!
  11. Rock Hard Tight End?

My 6 year old gelding has abnormally tight hind end muscles. Its hard as a rock to the touch. What is the cause of this? His semitendinosus and biceps femoris are the hardest muscles with hardly any give at all. Can anyone give some info? INFO ON HIM He is turned out constantly. 12. Preferred Feed

I'm currently feeding my 4 and 6 year old straight alfalfa with a scoop a Stategy Healthy Edge. The new boarding facility suggested I switch them to a grass/alfalfa mix that it is better for their digestive system. What is your opinions? They are both currently in training for barrels, 1 easy keep and 1 harder.
  13. Paprika Proof

I feed mine about a tablespoon everyday with their grain. I was skeptical about it but this is the second year I have done it and will from now on. Here are some of the black horse before and after. Now I only did paprika for a few months. He still gets a little bleached under his saddle. This is a picture from last year when I did paprika through the fall and winter. (So pretty much year round) Quite a large difference.
