  1. Photo Critiques??

Ok I just read all my replies. It sounds like I'm saying all the pics are bad. I'm not, honestly! Just adding some constructive criticism. Your pics really are nice! hehe

  3. Photo Critiques??

Ok I'm not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination so my comments will be limited. 1. Nice but the focus is kind of weird? But then again, that kind of adds to the desolate feel of the pic 2. Nice 3. Nice picture but you could have made it a bit more interesting by getting closer to the boats maybe? 4. lol, very cute! I like how you focused on the eyes. 5. Very nice! I still can't figure out how people can get the timing just right for lightning shots. Only improvement I can think of would be maybe moving the camera down a little so you get a little more of the ground and sillouette(sp) of the houses etc. into the shot. Just to show more how the lightning is hitting the ground. 6. Lovely pic except for the haziness. Are you using digital or optical zoom? Looks to be digital zoom which sadly adds that blury/hazy look. Same with the earlier lake pictures. 7. I really like this one. Don't know what comments to make though? The surroundings are really pretty but the person kinda slouching and head hanging, it feels lonely and sad? I dunno, lol. Well done for conveying the emotion. Oh and it's nice and crisp. 8. Like this one too, the contrast of colours is really nice. Only thing I would change would be to move the camera more to the right so the shoes are more on the left of the frame, rather than right in the middle. 9. Interesting. Only problem is the kind of uniform grey through out the pic. I always struggle with b/w pics, they always turn out boring grey Maybe adding a light source would help. 10. Very nice, I love the frame within a frame and the colours are lovely. I also would have tried focusing on the horizon to see what kind of effect that would create. 11. Nice texture and colours. 12. Really, really like this pic The contrast between the bright sky and pale wheat is really nice, as well as the wheat heads shooting into the sky. Also love the big metal thing (lol, sorry I don't know farming), it adds that something extra and it's placement is just right. 13. Very nice colour contrasts but honestly...kinda boring. Sorry, I personally just don't like flower pics. 14. Really like this one - interesting, unusual. Nice tones with the b/w. 15. Also like this one a lot. I can almost feel the cold from the blue, hehe. 16. Absolutely love this picture! The sliouettes(sp) are just stunning and that bit of blue on the left adds a bit of extra punch to the pic. Such a different picture, it's beautiful. 17. Nice but for me, the mist is just a bit too thick. Almost makes the subject matter difficult to see. Although it does still convey a slight eery/ secretive feeling which is good. 18. Nice but all the poles sticking out at the bottom are quite distracting. I'd crop those out so just the barbed wire is showing. 19. Cute pic but doesn't really grab me. 20. Another one that I absolutely LOVE. The colours are amazing and I love the people standing in the pink bit. They add that little bit extra to what would have been just an ordinary sunrise/sunset shot and it feels almost like you've just snuck into their world, spying on them. Hehe 21-23. Prefer 20 24. Interesting. I can't decide if I like it or not I think all in all, you take very nice pics. Mostly far better than anything I've taken. Keep it up

  5. New Puppy *Update w/more pics*

My parent's say they're too furry, but as soon as I'm living on my own and have the money and time for a dog I'm getting a collie! She's super cute. Keep us updated with pictures. Collies are such great dogs, so clever and willing to please. I've had 2 and I will never have a home without a Collie! Half Halt, you could get a smooth Collie? All the wonderful Collie traits and personality but without all the hair! If the only problem your parents have is long hair, then you might persuade them with a smooth Collie

  7. Predicting height

I know this has been asked many times but for the life of me, I just can't remember. What's the test for predicting how tall a filly/colt will end up? Something like the inches from the middle of the knee to the coronet band? So 10inches would = 10hh? Please help
  8. See My New Horse!!!! *PIC*

wow, she's stunning. I don't know much about Arabs but she looks to have quite a Crabbet build? Got some good meat on her bones. Beautiful!
  9. GaWaNi Pony Boy

I went to a demo by Chris Kremer yesterday (Chriss Kremer was trained and is endorsed by Pony Boy) and it was very interesting. I wouldn't say Pony Boy is better or worse than other natural trainers, it just depends what you're looking for. I like him because he's all about doing things for the good of the horse and reward, reward, reward! If you're looking for more material, try getting the book "Horse, Follow Closely". This was his first book and everyone I've spoken to says it's brilliant.
  10. Is this as bad as it looks?

I stand corrected but I don't think they're percherons. They look like Norikers to me. Noriker pics Magnificent horses, I wish I had one
  11. just a little cartoony drawing I did...

lol, cute! Critique...the difference in thickness between all the legs is a bit weird. Good job though!

  13. New Trick Horse

How did you teach your boy to bow and lie down? I so badly want to teach my friend's horse some tricks but I don't even know where to start. Please help? Splash is very pretty! ETA: what should you teach him next? teach him to rear on command! and then tell me how you did it, hehe. [ 05-09-2007, 09:02 AM: Message edited by: Rambaldi ]

aaaw i remember this little girl! So nice to see an update I think she's gonna be quite pretty when she's all grown up. How tall is she now?
  15. Hello all I'm quite keen to get the Parelli DVDs but we don't have them here in South Africa so my only choice would be to ship them over from the US which would cost a truck load! So long story short, a friend of mine is going on a working holiday to the US in a couple of months so I'm going to ask her to get the DVDs for me This is where I need help. Where would she get the DVDs from? Are they sold at places you'd get other normal dvds from? Like music shops etc, or do you have to order them from the Parelli site? Also, is the 2nd version better than the first? Which would you guys recommend? Considering I can only do this once, I need to get the right thing! How much does it cost for each level? Of course I'd like to get level 1&2 but the price would be the determining factor. I wouldn't get more than level 2 because I don't have a horse to ride and everything after level 2 focuses more on riding right? I'm not sure where in America she'll be, I think the West Coast somewhere but I can get those details from her later. Any help is greatly appreciated !
