  2. Jack. . . I was digging and digging for our post just now. . . only to find it on the first page! LOL. . . I think the equine affair sounds like splendid fun! You should definitely go if you're feeling up to it! Well. . . I have nothing new or exciting to post. . . but I wanted to pop in and say howdy before I go to bed! Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. . . HOWDY! [smiley Wavey]
  3. Oh Jack. . . I'm sorry you're not feeling very well w/ the radiation. . . I hope the side effects subside and you get to feeling back to your old self again! Same with the nerve pain. . . that's got to be awful to deal with. (((Gentle Hugs))) So I had quite the fun day yesterday! My friend Chris and I volunteered to be 'jump judges' at a cross country jumping competition. . . I got a bit too much sun, so I'm quite the crispy critter. . . the the fun day spent watching some incredibly athletic horse and rider teams tackle the jumps was well worth the sunburn. I took tons of photos. . . I know english riding and jumping aren't exactly your cup of tea but I think you'll enjoy the photos, Jack!
  4. What goes 'BUMP' in the night???? Kate tripping over the dog on her way to the bathroom. hehehehe OH YAH. . . and Kate bumping up our thread b/c it was buried on page FOUR! Glad things are going well so far and your treatments aren't making you sick, Jack! I'm bound to agree with you. . . Though I've never met Jerrie you tell us all the time how well she takes care of you. . . it's obvious that y'all have oodles of affection for each other! Lookin forward to saturday. . . my friend Chris and I volunteered to be 'Jump Judges' at a local cross country jumping event. . . it's not nearly as glamorous as it sounds... basically just get to sit and keep track of which riders clear my assigned jump, and which ones have refusals, etc. Should be fun though. . . a day spent watching horses flying over jumps. . . and my camera handy. . . Cant think of a better way to spend a sunny saturday! Tomorrow night there is a dinner for all the volunteer judges. . . they go over the basic rules, expectations, etc. . . and feed us! YAY! FREE FOOD! Saturday after the event there is a party for competitors and judges. . . so may be going to that as well. Hope you have a great weekend Jack!
  5. Gemstone Mining In North Carolina

I hope everything is going well for y'all today! So Saturday, my roommate and I went on a little road trip to an emerald mine. For a small admission fee we got to prospect in the creek, dig in the mine tailings and have access to the sluice. . . We also bought a couple buckets of pre mined dirt to sift through. . . I found several nice sized garnets and saphires. . . a couple very pretty rubies, and some emeralds. . . among the lesser gemstones. . . amethyst, sodalite, apetite, smokey quartz and citrine, etc. I thought I'd share a few of the photos with y'all. . . Kate, aka Clementine. . . excavating for a mine. Cute little toad we found in one of our dirt buckets. View of the creek. Some of my gemstones that I found! sodalite red agate garnets Rubies

Manes. . . I'm sure I threw a few away! 16. KatyB. . . I've yet to give you a welcome! I'm very pleased that you are posting and helping me keep Jack company! I've felt so neglectful lately. I made a rather large move about two months ago, have only been reconnected to the internet again for a little less than a month, and have been quite busy and not getting as much online time as I used to. Jack is one of my favorite people here on HorseCity and I'm glad he's being taken care of (socially speaking) when I cant be here! So welcome welcome welcome! I'd like to hear more about you!

  18. I dont know the magic words to cure your hiccups, Jack. I'm sorry! I DO have a trick that gets rid of them. . . but it only tends to work on the young and unsuspecting. . . and normally only works once. When someone is in the midst of a hiccup attack, just ask them out of the blue what color pony they want when they grow up. For some reason it gets rid of the hiccups. Distracts them, reroutes the brain, or something. . . but as I said. . . only tends to work once. . . after that, the person is aware of the trick and they dont fall for it again. I tend to use a spoonful of peanut butter to calm my hiccups. Just scoop some of that peanuty goodness out of the jar and slowly suck it down. It WORKS! (if you like peanutbutter)
