  3. sterile eye solution

i believe i have a horse with a clogged tear drop. i read you could rinse it out with sterile eye solution. I'm not sure what kind of eye solution and i'm afraid of buying the wrong thing. Anybody know what brand i could buy that won't be dangerous to the eye?

  7. What are your holiday weekend plans?

well yesterday my dad, brother and i took the boat and tube out and we headed for the lake. Mom couldn't go she had to work (dad retired and my bro and i graduated a few months ago) so today the three of us are sore from head to toe, took me about an hour to get out of bed. i landed hard on a few flips Sat: it starts to get really hot at around 9 in the morning so i'll just probably stay in doors and write or read. then probably go out and ride at around 8 and stay out for an hour. That's when the heat drops a few degrees Sun: Same as saturday Mon: Brother and I recently got hired at a restaurant so we're probably going to get called in to practice our jobs and have an employees meeting. Well they said monday but it could be tuesday So...yeah that's basically it

  15. What is the best way to start.....

you're going to start off at a walk. I have heard other people say that you just take the horse around and around the barrels but there's little stuff that are important to this sport. Start off at a walk, wait until you get about 10 feet away from the barrel and have your horse stop. Once you bring your speed up, don't forget to sit back in your seat, you don't want to be leaning forward when the horse slows down at a fast pace. Do this with all 3 barrels. Where the horse stops, that is where your horse prepares for the turn and slows down a bit. When you continue after stopping, once you reach the barrel you are going to tap your inside leg, this will get his butt to swing out a bit, tap until you reach half way around the barrel. Once you reach half way, turn your head and stare at the next one. Where your head is, or where your eyes are will lead your horse in that direction a lot easier and a lot better than you staring at the barrel or you staring at the horse. Your eyes will direct your hands and your body. Once you turn your head, tap with your outside leg, this will have him swing his butt closer to the barrel, giving it that turn n burn that you want. do this at a walk first, then bring it up at a trot then a lope etc...don't go walk, trot,go. Walk the pattern until your horse slows down/stops on his/her own, saying that he understands what he has to do. Then bring it up to a trot and try it from there. I do barrel racing for fun and not actually competitive at it when i do shows. This is what i was told when i started up CGA and how i wanted to do barrels. What you could do is look up videos of professionals or just very good people barrel racing too.
