  7. Gelding a 3 year old?

I'm currently in the market for a young summer prospect, that if he/she works out then I'll keep him/her. I found a 3 year old prospect that I absolutely adore. The only problem is he's a stallion. Now, being that I'm only 16 I have NO reason for a stallion. But, my questions is, even though he is 3 if I geld him now with he still have "stud mannerisms"? He doesn't act like it now, & he's kept with a 9 year old gelding & 2 fillies & doesn't really pay attention to either of them. So, to sum it up: If I buy him & geld him, is it still going to be like having a stud? [ 05-19-2008, 09:19 PM: Message edited by: Khaos ]

  9. Impact-gel saddle pads

I got my in Feb. for my b-day & I got the 1 inch. And I love it!! I won't ride my horses (or anyone elses that I ride) without it! My mare (barrel mare) used to throw hissy fits about being ridden & going into arenas to work & after I got my impact gel she was a totally different horse.. She now will wlak into any arena without a fuss. So, I HIGHLY recommend impect gels. :-)

  11. Gelding Still mounting??

I do know that she took both of his nuts, she showed me them. Umm.. as far as finishing the job, He gets on, goes is & is on her for a good 2-3 minutes, & when he gets off there is something comes from his ****** & it's not pee!
  12. Gelding Still mounting??

I'm not too sure if this is where this post should go, but it's a general question I guess? Anywho, long story short, I've had a mustang colt since he was 3 months old. I had him gelded at 10 months (late I know, but I was waiting til fall/winter so I didn't have to worry about flies). **And when my vet gelded him she physically showed me that part of the testicle that would sometimes get left behind & make the horse be considered "Proud Cut". Well, he just turned 3 years old last week. Now, until today I've never seen him show any "real" interests in mares. Today, I saw him on my 6 year old today over 5 times (in less then 4 hours ) & he was actually in her So, I guess i'm wondering why & what should I do about this? **Edited because I can't spell..
