  4. Thought I Would Pop In And Say Hello!

The horses are fantastic! Chloe is 4 this year! My filly is 2! Where did the time go?!?! I had to move to take a job this fall, so I no longer keep my horses with Dave and Royal, but we are still very very good friends. Everyone is doing very well. For thoses that remember Timmy he has just sold and will be leaving for his new home shortly! He's 4 this year too! Royal is expecting 5 foals this spring (finger crossed!) Mini has been retired, she had her last foal last spring. She was telling us it was time to retire her. She has a home with us until her time comes. Val, CB, Neveah, Thyme and one off property mare are all expected to foal this spring. (if you remember we breed for April/May Foal. It is just to cold before then!)
  5. Today we remember (NHR)

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of thhttp://forums.horsecity.com/cgi-bin/bb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=newtopic;f=28 HorseCity.com's Bulletin Boarde 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause and remember the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom and democracy during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Afghanistan conflict and during peacekeeping missions. A famous poem written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae who fought in WWI. He did not make it home from the war. This poem is part of Remembrance day ceremonies across the country. IN FLANDERS FIELDS In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. John McCrae Today I remember my Grandfathers who both served in WWII, both who I was very very luck to know. I also remember all those who fought so I could be here today written this, living in a country where we are free! Earlier this year, part of the 401 was named the Highway of heroes. For those who don't know, the "Highway of Heroes" is the 172km Hwy 401 stretch from CFB Trenton to Toronto. It earned its name because its the route fallen troops take before heading to the Centre for Forensic Sciences and returned to their families. Since 2002 thousands have stood on overpasses wearing red and holding signs, waiting for the the motorcade to pass. It lets the families know that we're thinking of them and it means so much to them. I remember. I ware my poppy with pride. Thank you for without you I might not be here today. Somebody's son Aaron Lines

  8. Anyone Have Experience With Asus Laptops?

Just got my mom and ASUS laptop. My dad (who worked in the computer industry for over 30 years) really likes them. They put really good hardware in there computers.
  9. Ipad Or Tablet

You couldn't pay me any amount of money to take an apple product. I hate apple! I have a Blackberry Playbook and I love it. I use is as an ereader most of the time. I also like it for the size. A 7inch tablet fits in my purse, and 10 not so much. I had the old samsung tab and I liked it too. I like android for tablets, and I think Android in the long run will be more popular than apple.
  10. Hello All! I've been MIA for a while now and I thought I would pop in and say hello! I've missed HC, and all the fun that happens here. We moved back to our old farm. The bigger farm didn't work out becuase there was to many cooks in the kitchen. We are tight for space again, but everyone (including the horses) are way happier. All the creatures are doing well. We have about five foals expected this spring, starting in about a month. I'm very excited for Royal's first paint baby with us. We are hoping for a very colourful foal! The usual suspect are also in foal, CB, Val, Neveah, and Mini. Chloe and Timmy are 3 this year. Chloe had a successful show season last year. She only showed halter and the purpose of it was for her to learn to be a show horse. She will likely not show undersaddle this year. Timmy may show undersaddle this year. We will see. We are in no hurry. Aire and J are doing well. Ty was sold to a friend of mine. He is also doing great! They are all starting this spring/summer. Last years foals, Lilly, Luke and Callie are all doing great. Rain was sold to a wonderful home and I keep in touch with her owner. She loves her to death and I get regular updates. Callie has been enrolled in the OQHBF (Ontario Quarter Horse Breeders Futurity) and my plan is to show her this year. how are all of you doing?

  15. Tail Bags For Show Horses

I have used the tub type and the braid in one (it has three tubes and you pull a section of the hair through it) and I don't find either stay in particularly well. My mare will loose either in about a day give or take.

  18. Bit Advice

Hi All. I have a lovely 10 year old mare that I plan on showing this summer on the local AQHA circuit. I am having trouble finding a western bit that she is relaxed in. She gets really worried about the western bits I have tried and won't relax. She is extreamly soft in the mouth. I puchased a myler at the congress for her but I think it is way to much bit for her. I usually ride her in a snaffle for regular schooling. (she does the all arounds so I ride her english about 50% of the time) Thanks in advance!
  19. Replating Silver

I purchased my saddle used, and very shortly afterword the silver plating started to come off my saddle. How would I go about having the plating redone on my saddle? I have sceen kits online to do it yourself but this makes me a little neverous. Anyone tried this? does it work? if no who or where can I have this redone profesionally. I don't have the money for a new saddle now, and it's my only western saddle (I don't have a working saddle) so I don't want to be without it for weeks upon weeks. I do have an english saddle so a week or so would be ok. Thank in advance for the advice

  22. Sunscreen Is An Otc Med Now?

Here in elementary school you need a parent note to authorize advil or other over the counter medications, like allergy pills etc. I really don't understand why this wouldn't be good enough. I can understand why a teacher couldn't give a child sunscreen (child or another child may have a allergy to something in the bottle, and open that teacher up to a lawsuit) but I think children should be allowed to apply sunscreen provided by there parent with a note from the parent.
