  2. Heelers-help With Starting A Heel Horse? :)

Ok, so I have a real nice broke horse that I use to run barrels on, and I am going to start roping the heel-o-matic off of her. I was wondering what was a good bit to use and things to look out for. Also if there are any good drills for a begining heel horse could you let me know.
  3. Just Took Her Barefoot

She is sound but I've mostly been riding in boots.
  4. Barefoot And Barrels?

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the input! Yes I have only had her barefoot for about a month and a half and I do have multiple sets of boots and I have been working her slowly on different terrain to build that lovely callus that everyone talks about! So far shes doing great! and yes the gloves are my far my favorite boot!
  5. Barefoot And Barrels?

    Whats your opinion on this??
  6. Just Took Her Barefoot

  7. Baisic Softening

Ok I'm trying to find baisic softening excersizes that will also keep my mares mind calm. I do alot of bending but I need help getting her to shift her weight more on her hind end though a stop, and if I work too much on a stop she anticipates it too much. What are good things to help get a nice soft and supple horse???

  13. Tips For Preparing For An Extreme Cowboy Race

Thank you guys so much. I think Ill try that...maby not the guns but the rest of it. Utahcowgirl- I know! I loved the one I did my 1st time, we won the youth and made top 10 in open but placed 10th because we had to side pass to a mailbox where we had to open it and grab the cans...thats where it all went bad.
  14. pegasus boots

I LOVED my pegasus boots but after a few months of rodeoing they really wore out. the little piece of fabric(with the color on it) decided that it doesnt like being sewn and the botom velcro constantly comes off. I have tried everything to make them stick better and i can get it for a few rides then they fall apart
  15. Ok so I'm most likely going to compete in my second extreme cowboy race ever on 4th of july weekend and would really apreciate tips of how to prepare. My mare is a really nice trail horse and I've shown her in a number of trail classes, but thats been a while, at our 1st one we had to pick up a string of cans and she totally flipped out...little noises like that really get to her. so i guess im asking a number of things: What are some ways to slowly get her used to that? What else should i get her used to? What are some fine tuning points that you work on to catch the judges eye? and anything else thats helpful
