  1. Remember Me?

Yes....A lot has happened since I last posted here!! I retired Allie from the upper levels, and she was bred last year to a fantastic british warmblood, with proven eventing lines. Oliver turned 1 on May 20th and is growing like a weed! He definitely has the Allie-esq attitude, so it will be an interesting process trying to break him. He is literally a spitting image of Allie, so exactly what I ordered! As of right now, she is living in Canada. A very nice lady is leasing her as a broodmare for a year, and she is expected to have her 5th foal next April. More than likely, she will end up staying up there to be pampered by lots of little girls (her favorite lol) I've pretty much been in a riding hiatus for the last two years...a few short-term catch rides here and there, but nothing substantial. This winter/spring was actually the longest Ive ever gone without sitting on a horse! (Playing with the babies is fun, but it doesnt help my riding addiction) Then of course, in the past week I pick up two new rides, and it starts all over again. lol I just got the ride on a great 5 y/o homebred mare by R-Johnson. She needs a lot of work, but I think she will make a nice fox hunter. The owners dont want to sell her, but want to see her do something, so I have the ride for however long I want, and I can do whatever I want. She is a bit too big-boned for me (and 16.2 -- Im barely 5'2"), but as a free-lease with basically no expenses, its the perfect situation until Oliver is older! Im hoping to do some LL stuff this fall, and maybe take her novice next spring. I dont think she has been off the farm, so we shall see! Im also picking up the sale ride on a 7 y/o OTTB next week. Super laid back, and very much my type of ride, and very, very cute. Unfortunately she has two old bows in the front, so I dont know what she will end up doing, or how much I can ask for her. But its something to keep me occupied! I still keep in contact with a few of the older posters -- Katie, Gillian, and Jenna But I really dont frequent this BB anymore. So funny that the day I wander on here, there is a post from Kendra! Now that I have some projects to play with, hopefully I'll start posting more often :)
  2. Remember Me?

Wow....I just happened to stop by this BB for the first time in, oh, I'd say 4 years? And I find this post. So great to hear from you! I posted under two names, mostly goldenboy_eventer33 and caledonia. Dont know if you remember me, but I remember a few of you!
  3. My Baby Boy Is Growing Up So Fast!

Both mom and dad are 16.1hh (although mom is a very *full* 16.1 -- wears a MW or wide saddle) and I was expecting him to turn out around there (Im only 5'1"), but now that I see him, and compared to mom's other babies, I think he might push 16.3hh.
  4. My Baby Boy Is Growing Up So Fast!

He is a British Sporthorse. I havent measured him yet, but Im guessing he is around 13hh
  5. My Baby Boy Is Growing Up So Fast!

Its so amazing how quickly they grow... Oliver was born on May 20th, so he is not quite yet 4 months old. But look at how tall he is! He is my first baby, and wow, how much fun the process has been. A small part of me wished the finances were available to breed my mare back. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...7950092&type=1 what do you think?
  6. The Long-Awaited Allie Baby!

Allie probably wont event anymore...or at least at the level we were doing. She is 17 this year, and doesnt owe me anything else. Im thinking about looking for some pony-clubber to lease her out, so she might make an appearance in the intro/BN divisions sometime in the future.
  7. Baby Is Finally Here!

"Pandemonium" was born around 3am saturday morning. He is a TBxBritish Sport horse by Catherston Dazzler. Mom was an upper-level eventer and Daddy was a grand-prix dressage horse and has sired some of the top eventing horses around the world. Hopefully this guy will my next upper level eventer ;) He is pictured a few hours old, and then two days old. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1561120396098.2071629.1477950092

  9. Jingles For Marly...updated

I highly recommend equithane pads. They did wonders for allie. They are a little bit pricey, because the farrier literally pours a gel into the base of the shoe for a custom fit(so they are re-done each shoeing), so I only got them on april-september. They instantly fixed the concussion problem, and she never had an abscess with those pads.
  10. Jingles For Marly...updated

Allie had that problem on-and-off for the entire summer leading up to young riders. Scared the living begeezus out of me on several occasions, but I just had to be careful about how much conditioning work I was doing and how closely those days were. And then sometimes it would pop up without any conditioning work. It was weird. As soon as it mysteriously showed up one summer, it was gone the next and I havent had a problem with it since. I contributed a little bit of it to my farrier that summer, but the majority was just fluke-y. Do you have Marley in any type of pads? Equithane pads really helped the princess. Horses are just funny, funny creatures that like to keep us on our toes 24/7
  11. Name Ideas...starting With A D Or C?

Thats taken already, and by a very famous upper level eventer. ...one of the other problems with trying to find a name with dazzler...all of his offspring have dazzler in their name!
  12. Name Ideas...starting With A D Or C?

Although it would be nice to incorporate both names, I think it might be too difficult. I really just want to have dazzler in it so that people know it is somehow associated with him (he is the superstar of event breeding) I really like Dazzling Tonight I have a feeling its going to be a dark bay/black baby (both parents are dark bay/black) so that would work.
  13. Name Ideas...starting With A D Or C?

Owww! I like some of those! Thanks guys! Mare's reg name is Caledonia
