hi everyone! today she was ALOT less sunken in, i have been giving her some copera in her feed as well, she is only 8, and has just recently moved propertys i think it was stress of the move and just the differences, as she seems to be on the mend now, much much better, still sunken but no way near as much. she is getting fed, oaten and lucern chaff with some copera and some days gumnuts, she also has access to hay pernamently, :)

hi there! tonight i did the skin test, and it sprung back to normal, and also her gums were a normal colour h came back to normal quickly, i am thinkng it could be no muscle, as she doesnt use her hind quaters yet ( shes getting there ) but only can hold it a few strides at the moment, as her bum is sloped, i read somewhere that that can indicate her not using her bottom properly, therefore not gaining muscle there as of yet, i am getting her access to some salt and also getting some stuff to put in her feed to make her thursty, forgot what its called, incase thats what it is, but i dont think so, also her pain under her belly seems to be going away and getting less and less saw, ( thank goodness! ) shes also calming down alot, but shes pretty hot too ride, but i rode her yestreday and she was the best shes ever been i think shes starting to get better, maybe when she hurt her tummy is just hurt to drink too much ? so she stopped a bit? but she seems to be getting better, i didnt take her rug off tonight to look at her flanks though. will do that on friday :)

how do i post a photo?
  6. Sunken In Flanks.

she is a pure arab lol, so she is crazy, she is now Queen B of the paddock, i rode her yesterday and she ran down and had a drink, she is saw actully, under her belly. i went away for a week and someone rode her, ever since then she's been saw under her belly, but i found once warmed up ( lunged ) she will not be in no way near as much pain as before if not none, the water is clean, but no access to salt.... i will do the skin test tonight and have a look at her gums, she is very hyper and runs around like an idiot, i think she may have slipped over and kicked herself in the belly to cause the pain but im not sure, other than that she is normal to me, as ive only had her about 3 months, and she's been getting more and more tucked up every nown again, once been worked she puffs out a little bit more and doesnt look quite as tucked up, the water is clean and filled everyday as she is in with 2 other horses it goes down pretty quick,

hi everyone! so i got my new mare, she is 14hh arab 8yo, she hasnt done much riding up untill i got her and was perfect looking weight wise etc, once i started working her of course she was fed, her weight has stayed the same, she's even gained a bit of muscle i think, but her flanks have become sunken in, there is water in the paddock and she is queen B so shes not being bullied out of water by thee other two horses, what could be causeing this ? thanks so much i dont know how to upload photos otherwise i would. :)
