  1. Florida Tornados

WOW, I never though in a million years something like this could happen. Our small town, with only one traffic light, was mentioned on T.V. By the grace of God it skipped us. I can not begin to describe what a releif it was to hear that it had passed over us. The first thing we did was check on horses. they were all ok and fences were up, only small limbs down. Thank you. I received a call early that morning. A tree fell on the house of a close friend the next town over and she could not be located. The house to say the least was in toothpicks. Finnaly late thay morning we found out that she made it out with little injuries and had gone to a neighbors house.Thank you again. People in the Lake Mac area and Pasiely area didnt make it out so good. I lost 4 good friends that morning. I know in the Lady Lake area you can drop off supplies at the firestation. they are not letting people in the area that do not have an address there. Fiddlers Green Ranch is taking horses in.(located in Altoona) They are very close friends of mine. They have R.V. hook ups avalible and there are serveral Villas avalible. The number is 1-800-94-RANCH My prayers go out to everyone.
  2. **UPDATE**REALLY bad bad news.. please pray for us

prayers from FL, also I thought I would sare this to, 1D mare fractured both her front knees earlier this year and developed arthritis in both. she can no longer be ridden and is on atiquan, which helps, some. but we have found that by adding soybean and avacoto oil to her feed does wonders. if I may ask did you horse injure himself? Best of luck to you and your horse
  3. The dramas of High School**HELP**!!

During my 9th and 10th year our school was being remodled so we walk from one school to another alot through out the day. (it was about 3 blocks away) so it was tough trying to be with friends. im in 12th now and you know what ive learned.. Who cares what people think of you and who your friends are. at my school there are only about 600 kids. not many. everyone basicly knows everyone. But I dont try to cause problems with other people at school. im just there, everyone knows me, i have my best freinds, close friends, and friends....Band can be cool in some ways unless people take it "to far" and then they get a rep. for being a band geek. Hang out with people after school. alot of my closer friends ride horses, so we go riding in the woods or on the beach. or if it is to hot we hang out in the office at our ranch and ride at night. Go to the mall or go out to eat with people. GOOD LUCK

ok she is cutting bred top and bottom. This is a pic of her at 3 months. Her "real" mom could not carry her full term because her uterus is to weak.

  9. what do you think of him?

I am running him. There are no futurities in my area. maybe a furton 5 once a year. I Really didn't think he would be as good as he is now. I don't us a whip or spurs on him. he rides in a Jim warner hack with no tie down. Walks in and out of gates. Before starting any of our horses on the pattern they are vet checked and X-rayed. there knees are fully closed. I do disagree running a young horse IF they are not X-rayed AND vet checked. The same thing goes with our reining and cutting horses. ALL of our competition horses are in great shape and are on a strict feeding schedule that our nutrionest upholds ALL of our competition horses are in great shape and are on a strict feeding scedual. I just take my time on every horse and go at there own speed. We are in the Ocala Florida area so there is so pretty tough competion. I took him to State NBHA in May/June he did great, and ran some of his fastest times ever. He also qualified for 2006 NBHA Youth Worlds, but we are unable to unatend
  10. what do you think of him?

ok this is of my gelding he was 3 in this picture, but is now 4. He has been on the pattern for about 6 months and is running in the 2D. still improving every run. He has a head full of sence and is very easy going. Corona Jac (reining) on top and double Skipper W on bottom.

  13. OCD

ok im new this section and i dont know if this has ever been disscussed, well at least recently. we have a 2 y.o. buckskin stallion that was diagnosed today(4/4/06) that he had OCD. He is currently at the trainers, umm just standing in a stall till thuresday. He can barley move and they have him on pain med. The trainers vet came out, I couldnt be there but all i got out of it was, stifil and OCD. they are taking him thuresday somewhere where there is an xray for further diagnoses/confirm OCD. Well i have been woring the whole time especially after i read up on it. it obvisly affacts younger horses. can be in joinst stifles. most horses react to medication but sugery is an option. has anyone ever had this problem or know someone that has? He was on Seminole Blue ribbion 10 or 12 for most of his life, he was not confined, he had a stall and large padock. he had free choice minerals constanly and no previouse injurys. I also read that it happens in a lot of the "higher class" horses, esecially the athleates. Well he is reining bred.. West Coast Whix X HolywoodDunit thanks for all ur help

  15. A few questions while waiting on the vet to call back.

for the horse with the proud flesh warm salt water.. it is like us going to the beach with sores. heals up real fast and reduces scaring. Building up weight takes time, don't try to rush it. My neighboor has a mare the was given to her b/c the people she got it from rescued it and tried to build weigh up to fast and it foundered. horse is no good then except a brood mare. and being a rescue its not registered. It is now a pasture pet. I would keep up with the senior feed and weight buider. Do you bran mash?? if not it is a good idea to. Just add bran and mineral oil and feed, helps reduce colicing. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
