  1. I need some help figuring out what color my boy is. I purchased my quarter horse Brodie last year. He is 13 years old. According to his coggins he is a dun but, I just don't think that is accurate. He is a beautiful boy and I fell in love with him the the moment I seen him. His color is just so different. I just don't know what to tell people when they ask me what his color is called. He has a mostly silver mane and tail with some darker streaks in it..he is a chocolate color with some dappling under his coat. In the winter he is lighter. Summer he is darker. You can see the dappling in the summer better. He has some silver hairs through out his coat if you look close. I'm just confused at this point.
  2. Golden Palomino Fades During Summer

Hi! I have a palomino and when she sheds out in spring her coat is a beautiful golden color but as the summer months go by, she fades to a creamy color. Does anyone have any tips on keeping her coat gold? She is outside 24/7 with access to a run-in shed and stalling her during the day isn't an option. I have been looking for color enhancing shampoos/conditioners and sunscreens that I can use to prevent her from fading, but there are so many out there that I have no idea where to start.... Thanks!
  3. Re-Dying Nylong Tack?

Has anyone ever tried, or been sucessful at re-dying faded nylon tack? If so any tips, suggestions? Did the dye run/bleed on a sweaty horse? I have an old nylon bridle- faded... I know if can just get a new on, but it's still in good condition and of sentimental value (first horse's) after over a decade. I thought of trying to re dye it.
