*****OFFICIAL PHOTO CONTEST SEPTEMBER*****

Recommended Posts

Im sorry was this already started? I tried to find it but had no luck.

----------------------------------

STOP!!! Please take a moment and CAREFULLY read the rules before you enter! If you do not follow all of the rules, your entries will not be judged, and you will be disqualified from this month's contest!

----------------------------------

O F F I C I A L R U L E S

1.) Deadline is midnight on September 31st; any entries after that will not be judged.

2.) Photos that were entered in any previous month's contest are not eligible to be submitted again. Do not underestimate the power of ones eyes and memory.

3.) RULE as of January 2004: You MUST have been the photographer, no matter the category. You have to be the person, who was behind the camera, found the framing and moment and pressed down the button to take the picture. It just makes more sense to have been the photographer and not the subject in a photo contest you are entering.

4.) Dogs, cats and other critters are NOT allowed. (Ponies, Donkeys, Mules, Zebras, Zonies and Zorses of course ARE allowed.)

5.) Person judging cannot have pictures entered.

6.) NO horses shall be mistreated or injured in the taking of pictures.

7.) Categories are up to the particular judge.

8.) ONLY ONE PHOTO PER CATEGORY.

9.) Entrant MUST specify which category the photo is being entered in. And it MUST be one of the categories for this month. Judging will not start until the contest is closed, so if you change your mind about which category your photo should go in; edit your post before the end of the contest.

10.) If your photos are NOT working on the day of judging, they will not be judged. So make sure they are all in good working order. Also, do not post links to the pictures. Use the to post them here.

11.) COPYRIGHT 2004 - 2005: If you host your own un-official photo contest, please don't steal the wording we've worked so hard to develop over the years! Make up your OWN rules, define your OWN categories.

12.) DO NOT SAVE A SPOT. Only post if you have the photographs ready to put up. Also, try to limit the discussion on this post, we want more pictures than we do discussion. If you think a photo is beautiful and you want the photographer to know, send a PM. And please keep your pictures in one single post, not spread out over several pages.

13.) PLEASE! Do not make your own pictures in either Paint Shop Pro or Adobe. If you cut the horse out and put it in a different background, we will know. We really have no way of knowing if the horse is just a random horse off the web or if you really took the picture. However, They are usually found out.

*****Please note that if anyone breaks any of these rules you will be disqualified from the contest this month.*****

~~~~~~Any one interested in judging future contests, please PM the present judge. Be prepared to show some of your own work.
The present judge will pick the following months judge. This means that the choosing judge is responsible for the judge they have chosen. You may need to take over or find someone else to judge if there is a problem.~~~~~~
******Each judge is responsible to have the contest judged in a timely manner. Results should be posted by the 10th of the month.******
****Also, PLEASE RESIZE YOUR PICTURES SO THAT THEY FIT ON THE PAGE WITHOUT THE NEED TO SCROLL BACK AND FORTH!****
*CATEGORIES*
1) Scene: I want an clear photo with little to no background clutter. I want a nice photo that clearly shows a scene.
2) Working- I want to see a horse working whether its by riding or being lunged what ever it may be I want the picture to clearly show that the horse is working.
3) Artistic- I want a photo that can include any horse related thing except an acutal horse/pony etc. I want a clear photo and that is artistic not just your average picture of a horse related object.
4) Artistic2- I want a photo that includes a horse/pony etc. I don't want the average eye or butt or tail picture. I want no human interacction in this one. I want something that stands out and is truly artistic.
6) Lazing Around: I want a picture that shows a horse being lazy. Whether they are laying down or eating it doesn't matter.
7) Best friends: For this category I don't want any human interaction. I want to see some sort of bond between 2+ horses.
