What are anniversary hours?

Recommended Posts

I noticed a change on my paystub, it now has an extra section wich was not there previously. It has a section that says paid time off/ vacation hours earned and used wich has always been there however now there is a new part that says anniversary hours.

I have not been able to get ahold of anyone at work that knows what that is and that is the first time I have ever heard that term before used on a paycheck.

I have tried googling it but come up with nothing. So has anyone ever heard of that? Are they some sort of sick leave hours or something? I already earn vacation time so it isn't that. I am just puzzled [Question] Any ideas?? [Confused]

Contact HR, they can tell you.

It is possible that you have now been there long enough to qualify for some sort of "personal" time off...

Normally when your company move to a PTO/Paid Time Off system the hours are accumulated/changed on your anniversary date.

If you don't have a roll over in place the hours off you have left over on your anniversary date are taken away and the new hours for the next year go in.

(P.S. It's ALWAYS best to use your accumulated time off before your anniversary date so you don't lose them)

For instance I get x amount of hours per year. Which begin on my anniversary date of Sept 2. If I don't use all those hours before Sept 1 of the next year I lose them.
