Tell Me Your Dream/goal

Recommended Posts

In reason, of course. I mean, we'd all love to win the Maclay, or ride in the Olympics, but how many of us can really afford it? And of course, all of us would love to be actresses or singers or. . .

Horsey:

Get Ruby up to fourth level. I would love to be able to do Grand Prix, but I'm trying to stay in reality, lol.

Non-horsey:

Get my novel published. Hopefully I'll start sending it out to agents sometime soon.

So what's yours? And what are you doing to get there?

I would like to...

No, scratch that, I will make the NFR someday.

I eat, sleep, live, and breathe this and will do whatever it takes.

ETA-

If it never happens, I will die trying.

Too many of my dreams have sad endings lately.

But one of them is to live in some quiet European town and write novels for children. I could move somewhere else every eight to twenty months, whenever I got restless, and just take the train somewhere else. I could get by in between publishings.

And I've heard that Australia's got a huge hot air balloon scene. I think that's more of a hobby than an industry one could make a living in, though.

Mostly, I want to be happy.

Right now my only goal is to get through finals. 3 more papers and 3 more exams over 5 days and I'm done! I can't even begin to look ahead beyond the next 5 days because it's consuming every last bit of my life.

I like how Sugarbabe thinks! I WILL make it to the NFR to even if it kills me.

My other goal. Just find out what I fricken want to do in life. If its not with horses, forget it. I'm having such a hard time trying to think of SOMETHING I can major in. Not working!!

Honestly right now I don't know.

I don't know if horses are going to work out for me.. yeah.

I guess it's basically just finding a college I like, hopefully getting into it and being able to get a great job and all. :) for now anyways.

Reality bites--don't let it get in the way of your dreams, ever.

You never know how far you can go until you've pushed yourself towards the things that seem impossible.

Never, never, never limit yourself because it seems "unrealistic." There's always a way if you really have a passion for something and are willing to work to get it and have a bit of patience. ALWAYS.

My goals...

Horses:

-Get Willow in the show ring this year

-Be one of the Top 10 Amateurs on my show cirucuit with Ellie by the end of the year

-Go trail riding a little more

-Learn to trim my own horses' feet

This Year:

-Work full time this summer and save up enough money to pay rent the entire school year

-Find a place to live on which to spend said rent...lol

-Get my work to agree to let me work just Saturdays and holidays during the school year

-Get straight As my first quarter at OSU

Life:

-Get my DVM

-Become a board certified Equine Practitioner

-I don't really want my own practice, but I want to work for an amazing one!

-Maybe work with the U.S. Equestrian Team as a vet

-Get married (talk about impossible :winking: )

-Have kids (Preferrably 2 girls, Devynn and Logan, and a boy, Aiden)

-Have a house somewhere in the country, maybe somewhere a little warmer than here, with all my critters

-Retire as a professor at a vet school

I don't have any horse goals because I'm getting out of horses for the time being. When I get situated in school and have a job in a year or so, I might pick back up with rehabilitating an older horse or just getting a steady horse to enjoy riding with. optimist.gif

I just don't want to fail in life. I don't want to be 27, divorced, with a kid, living with a really terrible guy just to have a place to live and living off unemployment and food stamps like my sister is. I don't want to be a burden on anyone. I want to go to school, get a degree or two under my belt, and live a happy, stable life. That's all I'm going for.

Exactly.

One day we will all be old... looking back at our lives, all the things we did and didn't do... and dwelling on all of the things we never did. Be sensible and smart about it-have a plan.. if you have a dream, go for it. If you don't make it, it's okay. You'll never have to look back and wonder 'what if.'

--

This is gonna sound really bad but that's one of the very few "life goals" I have. Next few year goals, yes, but I still have no clue what I want in the big picture... and I refuse to give up and spend the rest of my life dwelling on the fact that I never tried.

I'd loveeeee to find something that's big/sound/sane for me to lease until my junior years are up (likely never going to happen). I'd also like to be able to show 3' this summer, 3'6" next summer, and play around in the low/high children's jumpers with jumper trainer's big gelding. That would be lovely.

Long term, I'd love to possibly get a business degree, then become an assistant for a BNT on one of the larger circuits. Heck, I'd even gladly stay home while they were showing.

Oh, and I'd like to buy a big, green WB in college, so I could train it and then sell it as an A/A or A/O horse sometime before/after I graduate college, and before I go pro. (hah, like THAT will ever happen! :P)

I have one real non-horsie goal:

To visit every country in the world before I die.

But for right now I think at least most of my horsie goals are more or less within reach. (We'll see what Daddy says about leasing a bay horse... and if the other lady ever calls back about her trial ride on my friend's grey horse.) If Daddy says yes to bay horse, and friend doesn't get a call back on grey horse I'll have a horse to ride... I promise when I have a lease and a friend around when I ride there will be pictures.

Pllllllllluuuusssssssss Ben went to the vet today and got a navicular bursa injection since he blocked as being in his heel and not at the surgery site. One week to see how he feels after that. *every please send jingles*

Everyone has such different directions they want to go and amazing things they want to do. I think we must be a pretty ambitious bunch.
