Concerts

Recommended Posts

What concerts are you going to this year? Or who have you already seen?

My sister and I usually go to as many concerts as we can, and it usually means driving a minimum of 2 hours... and we have gone longer.

The year started off slow for us, but it's picking up late in the game! We kicked off our own personal 2009 Concert Series with Old 97's in Indianapolis July 23 AND July 24 in Louisville. These guys are so killer live. People who don't like this band simply haven't heard them yet.

Coming up next... Jon McLaughlin playing at the Indiana State Fair August 13, and Jason Mraz also playing at the Indiana State Fair August 18. I AM SO EXCITED.

After that... We are trekking up to Chicago for a long weekend to see Old 97's frontman Rhett Miller October 16. I am so excited about this... there are no words!!

We don't have any concerts plans after that, but that's partly because OneRepublic hasn't released a tour shcedule yet, which will definitely happen after they release their album sometime in the Fall.

So... who are YOU going to see???

I just saw Jason Mraz the other day in concert. He was AMAZING. You're gonna have so much fun. :]

I wanted to go see Rascal Flatts again but the tickets were $40 and I'm broke currently. Plus the concert starts in like 40 minutes haha.

I'm going to see Taylor Swift (again) on September 3rd. I saw her in March and she was awesome. :] Dramatic, but awesome. haha, it was fun.

I just saw Jason Mraz the other day in concert. He was AMAZING. You're gonna have so much fun. :]

We have seen him a few times.

We bought tickets to Sheryl Crow because Jason Mraz was the opening act. Then we saw him not too long after in Indiana. Apparently, everything happens in Indiana.

I saw Rascall Flatts several years ago, and they were a really good show. I haven't been that into their music lately, and like you said the tickets are expensive. The shows I have been going to the last couple years are so much cheaper... the Jon McLaughlin show is free, my favorite price!!

Have fun at the Taylor Swift show!

I went to the Fall Out Boy tour...my friend and I go each year their here mainly because we like who tours with them...this year I went because I wanted to see All Time Low....and they're coming back this fall with Blink 182, so I'll be there as well.

In June I went to the Offspring, but only made it through the opening act and then half a song of Dropkick Murphys before ending up in the ER....oh the joys of mosh pits...so I didn't get to actually SEE the Offspring...which is terribly sad, hopefully they'll be back again!

I've seen Foo Fighters, Bob Dylan, 50 cent, (Rihanna and Kardinall Offishall at the same concert) Paul Brandt, and (embarrasingly enough...Avril Lavigne) ahah, that one was for a joke, and I didn't have to pay for the ticket.

I'd DIE to see, the Red Hot chili peppers (my favourite band number one) and Pearl Jam, (favourite band number two) those are the two bands that If I were to go see them, I would be one of those girls who starts screaming and crying.

i just went to warped tour on wednesday and it was pretty much a bust.

i wanted to see all time low, hit the lights, valencia, and every avenue and that was pretty much it.

any one of those bands would have been reason enough to go for me, but in all the experience sucked. worst warped i've ever been to haha. i basically sat around all day waiting for those four.

usually there are at least bands that interest me in between the bands i really want to see but not so much this year haha

It's very much up in the air. If I went to any at all this year it would be Dave Matthews Band. BUTT....I have like no money. And I'm always super busy the weekend he plays at the Gorge because there's fair/rodeo and I work....I've managed it in the past for the last 3 years but shoot I'm low on funds! Moving out sucks!!

Matt Nathanson = love! Right now he's mostly opening for OAR I think. He's sticking around the east coast through September so I'm thinking of going to going to one of them this weekend because it's close-ish and I'll have lots of money from braiding... He's got the tour dates on his website though.

I saw George Strait with Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough earlier this year. Blake is hysterically funny and George is just amazing. I'd pay any amount to see him again.

Our NC state fair is going to have a bunch of people, so my best friend and i are going. Blake Shelton, Kellie Pickler, Eric Church, Jamey Johnson, Zac Brown Band, Bucky Covington and a bunch of others are going to be there. Tickets are $5-$15!

Hopefully Lil Wayne and Drake (and two others that I don't care about) on September 3rd if my friends stop being chickens!

Lol, this past winter my friend wanted to go see Lil' Wayne REALLY badly and I said I'd go with her, but she chickened out 'cause she was scared lol...she'll go to metal concerts with me but is scared of the rap crowd!

I'm seeing Alice Cooper in December, totally stoked to go :D

I'm absolutely desperate to go to Crue Fest, but it's only in the states and Motley Crue isn't touring in the UK for a long while **whines** same goes for AC/DC, they toured the UK but tickets sold out so fast it's ridiculous

I've seen:

- Status Quo - twice, the first time I had AAA (access all areas) pass, so I was taken onstage in front of 10,000 people, that scared me lol 0_0

- Velvet Revolver - OMG phenomenal concert, I met 3 members who were in Guns N' Roses backstage, chatted to them, had a great spot on the very front of the mosh pit *whoo*, one of my photos can be seen in my signature. Definitely the best concert.

- Blazin' Squad - numerous time, they were popular once upon a time in the UK but they've split up since then (i was 13-15 at the time)

- Lemar - He was on Fame Academy (UK singing programme), he's super talented and didn't need a tv show to launch his career, amazing singer

- Pink - she was fabulous, put on a great show and would love to see her live again.

- Sugababes - Once with Mutya and then again but with new singer Amelle. Both times were good :D

- Peter Andre - <3 he rocks <3

- Sophie Ellis Bextor

Saw Jon McLaughlin last night at the Indiana State Fair and it rocked so hard!

I brought my camera along for the first time and got some pretty good shots. I have never brought it before because I didn't think it would do well in the dark - most of my pictures weren't that great but I got a few gems :)

Tuesday is Jason Mraz at the IN State Fair, and then Jon McLaughlin AGAIN in September, followed by Rhett Miller, OneRepublic and a new favorite, The Elms!

SO MUCH AWESOME!

This summer:

I paid to get into Kenny Chesney, twice. Rascal Flatts, Roger Creager (three times), Cross Canadian Ragweed, Kevin Fowler and Eli Young Band, Cory Morrow and a few others.

I saw CrueFest2, and a bunch of others that weren't terribly memorable for free. (I live across the street form the big outdoor venue near Houston, so I can sit on the rooftop of the building and see anything that comes to that venue for free...)

Next week I have tickets to Def Leppard (with Poison and Cheap Trick). I'm SOOOOO excited. I LOVE Dep Leppard. Like it's insane. I was born 10 years too late for how much I love this band.

I also have plans to go see Jason Mraz in late September.

IF I'M HOME I'm going to actually go to Brad Paisley (with Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne) and Nickelback (with Hinder, Papa Roach and Saving Abel), but it's more likely that I'm be in the middle of nowheresville horse showing.

I'll probably go to Blink 182 (with Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects) and Creed (with Staind), but may just watch from home... depends on how much they cost.

And I'll get to see Incubus, Lil' Wayne, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Depeche Mode, and the Allman Brothers Band.... from home.

I'm going to Taylor Swift on October 1st in Pittsburgh. The last concert I was at was .... 98* when I was in 6th grade, so it'll be an experience, since I'm an "adult" now. What should I wear? [Crazy]
