My doc. appointment went very well yesterday. laycee was moving bunchies and had the doc laughing. her heartrate was 148. Other then having to test my sugar 3 times a day everything is going fine. will see my doc. again in two weeks. Gosh can't belive that im at the evey 2 weeks appointment allready. Have not done any shopping for her yet. Thats really bad. but hubby wants to wait until after we have her that way he knows what size things to get.

KNJ, thank you for the warm welcome.

Daphne, hope all goes well with the blood surgar for you. As for buying for the baby I was told by a number of people don't wait till the absolute last minute.

I haven't been buying any clothing yet but just getting baby supplies. Next time I head to Duluth I'll go to Sam's Club to get a package of diapers & wipes. The only thing I need to finish the room is a crib & mattress. We did get a older smaller crib from an auction but we can't get a mattress for it. Figured I would use that at the office with a piece of uppolstry foam that can be cut to fit.

Oh hint, check out Walmart.com they have a wonderful online baby dept. & their shipping is very cheap. So if you can't get to the store you can order online & have it delivered to your home.

We don't know if it is a boy or girl. On the last ultra sound Peanut was not cooperating at all. I have no idea if the Dr. will order another. My life would be so much easier if we knew the sex. So I'll just play the worried husband card & see if they will do another.

RW and Radiant..Welcome! I just love this thread.

Elliott is sound asleep! PHEW. It's been a long few days. I think he is just absolutely stir crazy, but it's just too darn cold to let him play in the snow. I cannot wait till Saturday for the baby gym class, he'll feel so much better afterwards!

We already have alot of stuff for the baby. Even though we were told it was a girl, all of the large stuff (bedding, playpen, carseat, etc) are neutral Winnie the Pooh. I figured it would be so much easier to buy stuff over a longer period of time than all at once when it is closer to our due date.

I had been keeping my eye open for supplies on sale. Will have to say that if you are going to recover anything use fleece. It is so easy to work with. Sad part with this time of year there aren't any yard sales, so makes it hard to find second hand.

Bought a glidder rocker from a neighbor for $10. Painted it black & covered the cushons with a fun fleece. Will also make decore out of the fleece for the room. But luckily I already have the dresser painted black. Just need to buy the crib & mattress. So for big stuff I don't have much left to get.

Hello all,

Just an update. We had our c-section on the 21st of December. Evelynn Elizabeth was born at 8:04 a.m. weighing 8lbs 4 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. Perfectly healthy and perfectly sweet.

The surgery went really well. I was out of the hospital two days later (per my request...I was tired of sitting there), and haven't needed a single pain pill since i've been home.

Baby Evelynn's big sister Emma (who is 3) adores her, although does get jealous from time to time. However she never takes out her jealousy on her baby sister...just me and my husband.

Will try to post pictures soon, if anyone is interested. It's been quite hectic having two kids in the house. Right now i'm lucky if I find time to use the bathroom much less sit online.

Hi there!!

I know I've been MIA for too long so I thought I'd pop in and give a quick update.

My little rascals are growing like crazy! they are already 8 1/2 months old. both of them are crawling, Ty is standing up by himself and taking steps holding onto your hands, they both sit up on their own and are into EVERYTHING!

But we are having a blast! Hubby and I signed them up for mommy and me swimming today it starts next saturday. I think it's going to be great fun for the whole family.

don't have much time to chat cause both boys are awake and into everything but I'll leave you with a few pics and come back soon to chat more.

I had my first ultrasound and blood work done last week and the doctor said so far everything looks picture perfect. They did back my due date out quite a bit. I'm now due August 24th! Originally we thought around the 10th-13th but I guess I'm not as far along as we originally added up. My birthday is on August 26th so it will be interesting for sure if baby decides to spend some extra time growing in there.

I've been insanely sick the last few weeks. The lil bean is really kicking my butt. My patience has also gone completely out the window. I work customer service so that's not really a great thing, but I'm trying to be patient and fair. Had a customer today that almost made me want to strangle her! I also have zero energy. It's awful how tired I am at the end of the day. I didn't get my nap today and was crabby all evening. Now I can't sleep haha. I hope some of this tapers off when I hit the 2nd trimester!

Welcome newly pregnant ladies! Hope you all have healthy/happy pregnancies!

tvp, you are due right around when I was! I was due August 26th and I had Connor on August 23rd. And yup, I was insanely tired and had morning sickness at this time last year, too. Good luck with your ultrasound coming up! Glad you and your little one are doing well!

HGJ, thanks for the update and pics! Your twins are such cuties! They sure have grown. Sounds like they are doing great developmentally, too!

Santas_Girl, congrats on Evelynn! Glad everything went well and everyone is healthy and big sis is loving her new baby sister! Can't wait to see pictures when you get a chance!

RailroadWoman, where do you live if you don't mind me asking? You mentioned Duluth so I figure you are in northern Minnesota! I live in Grand Rapids and go to Duluth frequently as my inlaws live there!

Update here - Connor is doing great! He has just started putting himself to sleep really easily, so it makes naptime and bedtime SO much easier! He also RARELY has his pacifier. He is self-weaning from it, I think. He only takes it -sometimes- when he is going down for naps/bed and sometimes in the car. He also graduated to his convertible car seat today and I LOVE it! He still has only rolled over a couple of times, but he is VERY close to rolling over from his back to his tummy. He is doing great on rice cereal, too. Anyway, I better get going.. I had a LONG day of work today since I had work all day plus three hours of CPR training tonight and I have to work early tomorrow morning, too! Goodnight ladies!

Goldie, I live in Spooner WI. Grew up in Duluth & Hubby in Superior so we go hour north when we have to get supplies for the business. Or I go to visit my parents.

Can't tell you how many a times I have been through Grand Rapids traveling hwy 2 going to Canada or to Crookston in high school.

TVP, the tiredness should go away or be not as bad in the 2nd tri. That was my biggest beef at first cause I had no control over being exhausted for no reason. As for the sickness can't say as I can help you there. Didn't have any problems. However, do recall reading that eating true jelly beans can help with upset tummy.

Santas-the pictures might be small, but she still looks adorable! And big sister looks very happy.

Not much going on here. This has been a very smooth pregnancy. Guess I can't complain! Right now I am working on planning for the baby shower. I hope to get my invitations out this weekend for a shower next month. The in-laws are being PITA's about not having one out in MN, but we just can't handle it financially as I would have to take a loss of hours at work to make a trip out there for a weekend. We aren't doing one in my folks' hometown either, but they are more than happy to make the drive out here. I also have family coming from MN, so I don't understand what the big deal is.

The main reason I wanted it here was the fact that most of my friends were not able to attend my bridal shower due to location and time of the year. It would mean alot to me to have them present at my baby shower and most either live locally or can drive down here. Oh well. I know I shouldn't let the in-laws attitude get to me, but they spend so much money going to casinos every weekend but yet don't have enough money to come out here for a shower.

Sddeadeye, sorry about what you have to deal with the inlaws. We have pain in the *** parents also so I know where you are coming from. As for the baby shower it is your day & if they have a problem with it tuff. Enjoy yourself with your loving friends & family who do support you.

My MIL is so bad that all she talks about is a baby boy. If you bring up a girl she just back tracks & says "oh just so it is healthy" It makes me really sick. She is so two faced.

Hubby is cheering for a girl so he doesn't have to deal with his mother. I still think it is a boy. But the day that will really piss her off is when I baptis Peanut myself (yes I am officiated) Thought it would be really neat to have the ceremony in our chapel car that we built for our wedding. Kind of a full circle thing with our new family.

[ROTFL]

The in-laws have already made it clear they aren't coming. Which is fine with me. That means I don't have to put up with their attitude bringing me down on a day that is supposed to be fun. My husband was really upset with them too and got into it with his mom over the phone the other day. I think he realized how upset it was making me. They were also deadset on us getting the baby baptized at their church. I kept explaining to hubby that I didn't feel comfortable baptizing a baby at a church hundreds of miles away at a church that I have never attended. Finally won that one, but we haven't figured out an alternative yet either. So far we are thinking of having the pastor that married us perform the ceremony.

Having the pastor that did your ceremony would be nice. If you have a nice park with a stream, river, or lake would make for a beautiful afternoon. Then you could have a picnic.

Yup..now I warn people about the dangers of having drunken sex. It may be fun & great at the time but you may find yourself saying "oops".

We never planned on having childern. Been together for 17 years & never worried once in that time. So we just figure that the big guy up stairs had a different idea. As for our neighbor he said it was about time that my hubby got it up there. Then our good friend said it was the process of paying off the IRS that releaved some of hubby's stress. It is really hard for us not to joke around about being prego.

Ours was right after we got back from our bachelor/bachelorette parties. I am sure we might have still been a bit under the influence too. Oops. But we were planning on starting a family and didn't want to have the kid in summer due to my job. I was thinking more along the lines of next year as I was also facing an upcoming deployment at the time. But, it all worked out and we are both very excited for our little girl.

Would couldn't have picked a better time to have a baby if we were trying. We wrapped up our 2009 season on New Years Eve & will start 2010 weekend of Mother's Day. So I don't have to work for the rest of the winter. Then baby should be 3-4 weeks old when we get going again. Also on the plus side we will only run trains on the weekends so it will be easier week days.

All I can say is Peanut will be going to work with us every day. The biggest problem is that I am a workaholic. So this is going to mean some big changes at the railroad.
