Does your mare just happen to trace back to Padron? lol.. I loved that stallion when I was about 5. Had a "scrapbook" full of pictures of him. Always told myself I was gonna get an arabian and never did..

Your mare is stunning and the stallion is breathtaking...

Can't wait to see your foal... >>>HFV<<<

Yes, there is Padron in there, but its a few generations back. Her sire's dam was sired by Padron----> Shaklans Padron out of Porcyelynn by Padron.

Breeding date was 5/5/09 (ironically enough, the 5th attempt as well). Works out to about April 10th for 340 days.

Ohhhh! Looks like we're both going to be up & doing mare checks all night the same week! Kelly is due the 12th!

[Yay] Fingers crossed we both get our dream babies!!!

(The BAD part for me, is, my buddy Railroad Woman is due the same time, & she needs ME to be her birthing coach.... how do I tell my good friend she has to give birth to her first baby in my horse barn???) [Crazy] I mean... the vet lives 6 miles away, I have some nolvasan & towels, I think there's a suture kit in the army 1st aid bag...we can't mess it up too bad...... right? [ROTFL]

There is NOTHING more cute than a baby doll faced/bodied Arab foal...I think by far out of all horses, Arabs make the cutest babies! I can't wait to see this one!

So keeping with the spirit of these foal watch threads, I did a string test on Baskette this afternoon. I'm not sure what to make of it... I've heard front to back swing = colt, side to side = filly, but I've also heard that circles is filly too.

So for those of you that keep track of these things, it was mainly front to back. So it BEST be wrong!!

CVM ask first "which direction of swing indicates a filly?" (test away from your mare) then ask "which direction indicates a colt?" . You need to program (for lack of a better word) your pendulum before testing your mare. There are a lot of energies effecting the outcome, yours, the mares and the fetus. Program first then test.

Here she is at a filthy 9-months!! She's being an absolute witch to her buddy Toby the mini gelding....he gets too close to her feed and she snakes him off! She's an utter mess at the moment, so please excuse. Her blanket got wet, so I had to remove it and of course she found the best mud to roll in.

Oh Yeah...will be keeping a close watch on this one. We are on our second chestnut Arabian, this time around a gelding. But my daughter still dreams of one day having another more refined type Chestnut filly..one day she tells me.

Hahahaha.....just look close at the MUD that's behind the strip of green grass. The poor pastures are NEVER going to grow grass again!! We've had a really mild winter this year. No snow at all, but the ground is just mush.
