Recommended Posts

Thought I would post this as an FYI to our photo gurus:

EPNet Announces Photo Workshop Focusing on the Western Stock Horse

The Equine Photographers Network will be sponsoring a new photography workshop to teach participants the proper techniques for photographing the Western Stock Horse at halter and pleasure.

The workshop will be led by internationally renowned stock horse photographer Gail Bates and held in the heart of Oklahoma horse country at the Circle C Ranch in Wayne, Oklahoma May 27th - 29th, 2011.

This workshop is targeted to both advanced amateur and professional photographers. Topics include setting up the horse, the correct angles for photographing western horses, managing lighting and backgrounds, as well as horse and human portraits and much more. Additional planned shoots include sunrise and sunset pasture scenes, mounted shooting, cutting horses and cowboys working cattle. The workshop will wrap up with a trip to the National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City and the Chuck Wagon Cook Off.

Gail Bates has been a specialist in photographing western horses for over 30 years. She has been the Official Photographer at the Paint Horse World Championship Shows as well as numerous events in Australia. Her work is widely used in the leading stock horse journals. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with other photographers.

The Equine Photographers Network is an organization of over 500 members who work together to improve their photo and production techniques, business skills and to promote Equine Photography. The Western Stock Horse workshop is just one of many events held in locations around the United States and on line. EPNet workshops typically draw participants from around North America and Europe. Workshop size is always limited so attendees can receive personal attention.

Great to hear of this. GREAT thread!

YOU know, a lot of us get complacent & don't frequent this board much. The last two topics you posted (Horses in Need) probably won't be seen by many HC people.

How about posting BOTH of these on either Gen. Chit Chat or Gen. Horse Chat.

Both of these were well worth the read even for us NON PHOTO people. HTTY
