Midwest Trail Ride

Recommended Posts

I got home about 1ish this afternoon and took a nap until 4 ... I am glad that you all made it home safely!! I would haul up to your place and camp RRW, it seems like that area would be a nice middle ground. I have a few pics that I will upload after dinner.

So... we come home to a puppy with his right ear at half mast..(Which will make him just THAT much cooler-looking, if he has 2 erect ears, lol!) a CLEAN barn, laundry all done, litter box scooped out, & my 2 remaining orphan kittens, digesting the kitten crack cans that DAD felt they needed, while he was working, & Momma was not home to nurture them! All THE DISHES ARE DONE!

(Peein' my pants here laughing at "Mr Anti-House Cat", & his 2 new "babies". He fricken hand fed them cooked SHRIMP!!!! :rotf: )

BUT, not done driving Yet For the weekend... it's 7th grade Football JV sign ups tonight. Yea. Jess wants to be a jock. Deal is, he keeps a B average, or he's not playing.

So, now we have all this football equipment in my living room... along with 3 house kittehs that are apparently REALLY glad that Momma is home.

(spits out cat hair)

Apparently, while I was gone,Hubby made Shrimp Scampi. The little boy Flame point kitten, AKA "Peaches", likes shrimp... So,

"I'm movin' to the country, gonna eat me a lotta Peaches!"

Awesome pics!! If a Brainerd/Bemidji area one is set up next year I would totally be IN, that's around where I'm from and I wouldn't have to drive so far!!

Ohnine, we are brain storming for one more camp yet this year. Was thinking mid week before the snow flies.

Red, that pup of your is just to cute & looks to be a big old goof. Glad you & the boys made it home ok.

Spring, no fair that you got to take a nap when you got home. I had all sort of crap that needed to get done around here.

Sorry, my video card went out on my computer and joe had to fix it for me .... I had stuff to do but I took a nap then stayed up getting them done so the nap was kinda counter productive. I only had a few pics but here they are :)

Looks like tons of fun guys!

So Burgundy, I take it that the new horse was well behaved?

RRW- I might be able to do something like that, but it would have to be a weekend for me. I have some pretty intense classes this semester and can't afford to miss any. The fall colors would be beautiful though!

Fall colors time of year is def out of the question for me as we are horribly busy at work. The trip to Pilsbury Park may just have to wait till next year.

If I am to be able to go again this year I want to go to Zimmerman over by Red's. Would really like to see the sand dunes & that would only be about 2hrs drive from home.

Spring, thanks for the added pics. Had my camera but never removed it from the tent.

Made it back! The drive home was pretty good other than going through duluth. Had to make a slight detour to another town to get back home. Stupid road construction. :rolleye0014:

It was so great meeting the new ladies! I think we had a good time!

Spring-Be sure to let me know about this fox hunting business! I would really like to try that next year!!

A closer ride sure would be nice. We made good time but the trip home was long, long, LONG!!! I think what...7 hours or so I drove? Yeah. lol!

Had fun with you ladies! It was definitely a treat. :happy0203: :happy0203:

Spanish, I looked up Pilsbury Park & it is 3hr drive for the both of us. You can't get any more in the middle to be fair. Will have to shoot for a date next year for that park.

If can manage to get to Zimmerman I'll let you know.

Spotty, yes the newbie was great! His biggest fault was not wanting to get into the trailer to come home... thanks Spanish for assistance with the stick! Got home he rocketed out and didn't even hesitate when I asked him to come back in. Much needed lesson!

Anyhow, he has some things we need to work on like being softer to bit cues, to learn leg pressure, to not trot just cuz the horse in front trots, being sent into places (trailer). As far as that goes to me these are baby things and they all are fixable. However until he is officially mine I don't see a need teach him things **** possibly never use again with the Amish if he goes back..(shoulders in/out haunches in/out, listening to soft hands, being sent etc.)

But well begin the purchase process!

My mom is moving in late Oct. She would be my overnight babysitter. SO, if we do a fall ride can we do it before then? I have no issue hauling. If were at a campground and I camp id maybe ask if i could bring my young dog Thomas (body guard)

Spotty, im wanting to come still im trying to find someone to go with me to split the cost of hauling the girls down. I could always just come in my car with out the horses but i dont know if that would be as much fun.
