Do You Name Your Vehicles?

Recommended Posts

My silver '09 Toyota Corolla is Henry. "The Beast" seems to be a popular name. That's what we call our old '97 Mercury Mountaineer. Next year I hope to upgrade The Beast to a full-sized pickup. I like how roomy the SUV is, but I need something to haul a horse trailer.

I used to have a Clifford too! It was a 92 F-250 4x4.

Right now I have a white 2002 F-250 4x4 and his name is Cracker....

And a beige Kia Sedona (dog show mobile) named Misty... short for the Mystery Machine since it is a van and I have Great Danes

And my husbands truck is a 99 F-350 named Big Silver or as I call it... Rolling Dumpster....

We name all our vehicles too.

This is my 89 GMC 3500 dually, herman. He is my truck, not "the" man, but herman. He gets the job done, whether it is hauling hay, or horses.

Have an 88 Buick Regal named Reggie, and a 91 Buick century named blue, for its color.

My Toyota 4- runner is called the Yota not very original but it's a super awesome car I love it. My Volkswagen I just sold was the beater car or beater dub. I miss that POS it would get 40+ mpg. My first car was a 91 Ford explorer affectionately called the exploder. My parents09 forrester that I am driving at the moment because of my ankle surgery ( my you yota is a . Stick) is the go- cart .

I hear you about tire pressure for gooseneck hauling. Extended cab trucks tend to ride better than their shorter counterparts too, even with duallys. Gonna haul a gooseneck next time we go on a saddle trip? Bet hubby would loan us Reggie, who gets 31 to 33 mpg on trips, but of course you would have to put up with my driving :winking: , no points, no tickets.

I call my smart car the pony express

one of my friends has a car she named pony express, because that's her license plate! She insists on people naming their cars.

My Grand Am's name is Cynthia, and I just bought a new car that I pick up tomorrow, but she still doesn't have a name.

Spiff, when we first moved to MO, colormeahorse had a '90 Honda Accord that someone had put a tuner muffler on. We also called it "the pissed off weedeater" becuase of the high pitched exhaust noise that it made.

My current is an 85 F250HD 4x4 ext cab, long bed with the old International diesel. She has 4.56:1 gears and a 4spd. She is known as The Big Blue Beast, or Ol Girl. She will pull ANYTHING you hook to her. Just not over 55-60mph. She was bought just to pull horses and work. She does it well. My 47 Ford 8n tractor is Granma. And I've always named my vehicles. Some not repeatable. But, I've had mostly great ones. How can you expect them to answer your call when you don't name them?
