Ddsp Or Horse "roaring"

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a graduate student at the University of Kentucky in the Biomedical Engineering Department. I am working on a study involving the treatment of dorsal displacement of the soft palate, or DDSP. I am looking for three horses with DDSP to participate in my month long study, after which they would be returned to their owners. The study involves injecting the soft palates with a natural substance that decreases vibrations and displacements of the palate. If anyone has a horse that could fit this study, please let me know. I am more than willing to answer any questions or concerns. Thank you!

Just clarifying for those reading, DDSP and "Roaring" are not the same thing. Roaring is laryngeal hemiplegia (paralysis of the vocal folds). Roarers would not necessarily qualify for this study.

For the OP, have you contacted Hagyard's or Rood & Riddle? Seems like it would be easier to find participants through either of those (especially being in the heart of Thoroughbred country) avenues.
