Cut Weight Challenge

Recommended Posts

I have been considering trying the 3 day military diet to give me a boost. Heck, you get ice cream every night. I think I can live with that! Lol

When I do structured workouts, I do aim for my target heartbeat, gosh I think it is 130-140. Seriously considering a doctors visit soon, to see if there is something internal that makes my fat want to stay. I have been wanting to go for a while now, but had crappy insurance. Finally have good insurance so I might as well use it!

Lol please no cookies. I like cupcakes and sprinkles better.

Like I said earlier, it's just stress loss which is far from a healthy way to lose weight! Though If I got the flu bug that's going around that might get me to my preliminary goal weight...lol

No exercise on this front today :surrender:. It poured rain all day, which is great, but I'm an outdoor exerciser. I ate decent though, a small bowl of cereal for breakfast, stir-fry for lunch and turkey burger for dinner.

Today I ate: a string cheese, a hard boiled egg, a cup of stir fried veggies (broccoli, carrots, water chestnuts, and snap peas) and half a crunch bar. Yesterday I ate a poptart and a piece of toast.

What will tomorrow bring?? Lol

Today was a pretty good day. Ate 1/2 leftover turkey burger for breakfast, smoothie with almond milk, vanilla protein powder, banana and frozen raspberries for lunch and homemade spaghetti for dinner with some banana pudding for desert. I used whole wheat pasta and made the sauce from scratch with ground turkey and no added oil. I also made the pudding part of the banana pudding, so there wasn't any junk from boxed stuff.

Got outside and brushed big dog out really well, then played catch with my daughter and her friend for about 45 minutes. Not a lot of exercise, but better than nothing.

The the downside though, I didn't drink nearly enough water :(

Food was normal yesterday except for the pizza I had last night. But for exercise I cleaned stalls and unloaded 1000 lbs of feed.

Off to my workout here in a few.

Food wasn't a problem yesterday. The wife cooked so it was quite easy to eat a small portion... :rotf::rotf:

You tell her I said that and I'll track you down!!!

Road my bike last night in perfect weather. Was just enjoyable being outside and riding along. Even tried my feet at running. Oh my... I am no longer meant to run. At 40 I could easily run sub 7 minute miles after working out. Now... not even close. I pushed for 1 mile on sheer anger at myself. The legs were not happy with me. I can skate all day, I can't run across the street.... :bang_head:

You could stop in and say hi but I'm heading to the rink soon... Mrs. Wolf is hidden away in a secure location. Cannot be found or reached by phone. That's my story...

There's some big inflatable obstacle course coming to town this summer. The final obstacle is a slide that's over 50' high. You should come up and try this one. I may consider a race later this summer if I can relearn how to run. Can you teach an old dog (old) new tricks?

What fun could Sioux Falls be compared to coming here? Accommodations by Mrs Wolf, a train ride with RRW, scenic Lake Superior beaches and afterwards we can watch GH work on my garden...

i had a dance session with my 2 year old for exercise today. It is rainy and rainy days just unmotivate me so much.

I so wish I had a YMCA near me, I really miss going to the gym. Specially a gym that provides childcare while you workout.

Manly Wednesday turned out to be very manly... Played hockey at noon. Good fast pace so I saw a lot of action and got a good workout. Shot trap after work in perfect weather. Was home cooking myself something to eat when I got a call asking to play again at 9:30. Hate playing in wet gear so I hesitated before agreeing to play. Laid my gear out with a box fan and a heater to dry. Figured it would be a good session of older guys who played in college or were good players. Was a group of them but then the young kids started piling in. Holy cow were these kids fast and skilled. Took a few minutes to get myself up to speed. Had a blast. Afterwards it was diet pizza and diet beer... If I say diet first doesn't that automatically make it low cal and healthy?

Did OK yesterday. Started out with a smoothie, spaghetti for lunch, and more spaghetti with whole wheat garlic bread and some banana pudding for desert. Got out for about a 30 minute walk, then helped with t-ball practice. Helping with practice isn't much in the exercise department, but it was out the cold wind, so I'm sure some extra calories got burned just staying warm.

Did you all know, drinking chilled/ice water, your body burns 102 calories bringing it to body temperature?

You're supposed to drink at least 8....8 oz glasses of water a day.

The math is pretty simple here.

As Drs. Aaron E. Carroll and Rachel C. Vreeman reported in an article on this topic:

There's nothing wrong with liking water, but there is no scientific proof stating that you need to drink anywhere near eight glasses a day. One doctor who has made this his research focus, Dr. Heinz Valtin, searched through many electronic databases and also consulted with nutritionists and colleagues who specialize in water balance in the body. In all of his research, and in all of the research we conducted to double-check his work, no scientific evidence could be found to suggest that you need to drink eight glasses of water a day. In fact, scientific studies suggest that you already get enough liquid from what you're drinking and eating on a daily basis. We are not all walking around in a state of dehydration.

Other medical experts have also disdained the notion that one need drink at least eight glasses of water per day to remain adequately hydrated:

Kidney specialists do agree on one thing, however: that the 8-by-8 rule is a gross overestimate of any required minimum. To replace daily losses of water, an average-sized adult with healthy kidneys sitting in a temperate climate needs no more than one liter of fluid, according to Jurgen Schnermann, a kidney physiologist at the National Institutes of Health.

One liter is the equivalent of about four 8-ounce glasses. According to most estimates, that's roughly the amount of water most Americans get in solid food. In short, though doctors don't recommend it, many of us could cover our bare-minimum daily water needs without drinking anything during the day.

There are some diet plans that limit the amount of fluids taken.

Wolf can you please tell me where that pizza joint is? I know it isn't Shamrock as just the grease floating on top will put one in the hospital.

My lunch today consisted of a few mini chocolate bars.
