HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY

Recommended Posts

Have you got your green on?  No plans here but will be going out for my corn beef & cabbage lunch.  Hubby will  go along but he doesn't like cabbage.  Oh darn just more for me.

RRW,  The corn beef & cabbage sounds good, but I' do have a blue-green t shirt on,  & that is about all the Irish in my genes.  Enjoy your supper, & have some green beer.

Danyel, Didn't know what Colcannon was,  so googled it,  that looks good also,  part of my problem, there are just to many things that taste good to me, & they all like to hang around my belly.   Happy ST. Patrick's  Day.  PD

Only green around here is that darn grass that is growing while I watch! I'm having fried chicken tonight. This is Kentucky.

ETA: Okay, maybe I'll have some Baileys tonight.

Jubal, they're hating me right now - but the sun is so warm that they need to just go out and enjoy it for awhile. They think that inside is better when they don't have any grass.

Aww!  Cute picture.

We celebrate with Irish language, stories, and songs.  I did a lesson plan for K-8th at our son's school a few years ago.  I taught the kids some Irish words and phrases, showed them some short videos, and taught Irish history.  Since it's a Catholic school, we also learned about St. Patrick.

We're American mutts, but we have quite a few Irish surnames in my family (as well as Welsh).

Here's a link to a few favorite videos:

I don't need to wear green, my eyes are half green.

Your horse looks cute, pink.

Considering I dress my dog up for every holiday, I may start it a new tradition for my horse, too. Horse Easter bunny...yes!

Corned beef is more of an American thing anyway.

What's wrong with beef tips and noodles!?

I don't like beef tips. Reminds me of dog food, lol. I can eat the bed of noodles with some butter - but not the beef tips.

Oh later this week we will be going out for beef tips at lunch time.  It was on the special board & they are yummy.

Best beef tips I've ever had were in Sturgis.  They were so very tender.
